Loaded shotgun in truck?

In the state of GA, can you possess a loaded long gun in your vehicle if you have a concealed carry permit?

Update:

I do mean in the magazine, not in the chamber, but that is a good point, thanks

Some states allow it some don't

Of those that do some requires that it be cased and some require that it be out in the open

Those that require that t not be loaded have different definitions of loaded

Some don't want amm0 in the gun some don't want ammo in proximity to the gun and some just don't want a round chambered

This is one case where a quick visit to the Georgia Firearm Statutes would definitely be in order

Check locally. In Iowa the concealed carry permit allows the carry of loaded long arms in vehicles. This is one of the reasons to get a concealed carry permit for farmers- carry loaded varmit gun in vehicle legally.

As someone said above me, I MO it is legal to carry any loaded firearm in your vehicle - so long as it is unconcealed. Shotgun in a rack in the window is legal.

Of course, in certain jurisdictions taking it in and out of the car will get you arrested for brandishing if you're not careful.

As someone else said, though, a concealed carry permit rarely has any bearing on non-concealed or non-concealable weapons.

verify your interior of sight rules (would desire to additionally be indexed in the searching handbook) yet I doubt it. In each state i comprehend of, in a motor vehicle firearms would desire to be unloaded, and in maximum states additionally the two cased, or out of trouble-free attain (alongside with trunk or outdoors storage compartment). With an exception for handguns in case you have a hid enable. some states do enable them to be uncased in a gun rack, and that i've got faith some are happy with in basic terms an empty chamber. in many situations talking with very few exceptions you gotta sell off your firearm earlier entering into the motor vehicle. Even in a community the place it wasn't unlawful, and to procure stopped with a loaded shotgun on your truck, have exciting explaining the way you're no longer roadhunting. verify your interior of sight rules to be useful, yet in many situations it rather is prohibited, and regardless of if no longer it may convey approximately some considerable issues if caught.

Hello,,I doubt it,,the permit covers the weapon carried on your body,,so usually a loaded weapon in a vehicle is covered under a different law. If you can ask any local law enforcement ,,you might get the straight answer,,unload the gun first!!!

Don't know Ga. law, but I do hope you mean loaded

    'in the magazine`.

'Round in the chamber` just isn't that good an idea.

Some states consider your vehicle as your home so look into Ga law.If that is the case in Ga then you should be able to.

No matter what state you are in, a carry permit has nothing to do with this.

And, it is probably illegal anywhere to carry a LOADED long gun in a vehicle, no matter HOW it is racked or cased.
