I have just had Talk Talk on the phone-?

And she nearly talked my ear off, asking me to sign up to their services they were so wonderful I had to commit right away before they would send me a 'Welcome Pack' What kind of abuse is this? I didn't even want to talk to them! Please lets put an end to this cold calling. Just leave us alone. We are quite capable of reading do we really want some little brain washes teenager from a rip off company chewing our ears off ? I say ban these calls, what do you think?

    Register with TPS

It will stop a lot of telephone nuisance calls

Get an answering machine with caller ID. If you don't know the caller, don't answer, if it's important they'll leave a message. I have a home business or I wouldn't own a phone because of nuisance calls, even with the home business I use my caller ID to screen calls all day.

Nothing worse than someone believing the minute they call you have "all the time in the world to listen to them", it is rude and if they don't accept a polite NO THANKS, I hang up! The out sourcing of foreigners who I can't even understand was the tip of the iceberg for me........now my phone is for MY USE only.......I pay for it so I choose who I want to talk to!

I put radio 3 on very loud and leave the receiver right next to it.

I know the callers have a job to do and are maybe on commission, but if I want to know anything I will find out for myself.

if you register with the TPS, companies are not allowed to cold call you and risk a fine if they do. They soon hang up if you say TPS see the link below ( this is free)

I agree with you 100 percent. There is a way of banning all of that but it costs some money.

Thank you for posting this...I agree with you! I would just have hung up the phone and if they called back I would just explain to them that I'm not interested lol but that's just me!

I think you should do what half the country does. Hang up the phone.

You can just hang up you know.

They usually get the message then.
