  • Why was my credit card application denied...AGAIN?

I am beyond pissed off. I recently applied for a Discover card only to be turned down. I am a 35 year old college grad, I have owned my home for 3 years, the mortgage is current and in good standing, I have a personal loan that is current and also in good standing as is the monthly monitoring on my security system. There are 2 medical bills on my credit but that's it. I paid off a lot of medical bills prior to buying my house, the 2 are recent. I have NEVER had a credit card; they have always been denied. I am starting a new job next week so that may be one reason, but what I would like to know is why my husband can get a credit card when he has a car repo in his past, a $3,000 bill at a jewelry store that's been turned into collections (prior to my meeting him), several credit cards he got with his ex wife that are in default, he has a card right now that has a balance and was closed by the company because of it. The ex wife defaulted on those cards with my husband, has no job, has moved at least a dozen times in 9 years, had 4 cars repoed (at least) and she shows up with a new car a month or so after the repo. HOW IN THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN? How can people like that get a credit card but I can't? I do not understand it. It's not like I'm out running up these huge debts, medical bills are an unexpected expense.

  • Marks from wrinkled pants?

I have a pair of dress slacks that were very badly wrinkled at one point. I ironed them, but the pants now have white streaks on them from the wrinkles. What causes this and how do I get rid of them? I have looked everywhere and can't find an answer.

  • Ipod and Itunes?

This may be a really stupid question, but I can't find the answer anywhere. I want to subscribe to Itunes to get some new music, but I don't have an actual Ipod. I have a Creative Zen MP3. Can I still download music to it from Itunes?

  • Gordon Ramsay's Beef Wellington?

I have found his recipe for Beef Wellington, and I'm eager to try it. My question is, on Hell's Kitchen, the wellington is served with some kind of sauce in a gravy boat. Does anybody know what that sauce is and where to get the recipe? Thanks.

  • Getting reported?

Why do people on here find it necessary to report an answer that is the TRUTH? I was just reported for telling someone that she was sick for fantasizing about her father in law when she masturbates. So sorry to offend, but IT'S TRUE. Grow up.

  • Edward Jones?

I am looking into different investment options, and I am leaning toward an advisor recommended by Dave Ramsey. He is 2 hours away, but like I said, he is recommended. There are 3 Edward Jones offices in my town, which makes me VERY skeptical about using them just becuase they are local. Has anyone heard anything about Edward Jones, either good or bad? I'm leaning towards the out of town advisor just because I'm afraid to put my money with someone who can open an office with little or no training (I looked into working for them a few years ago).

    Opinions, facts?

    Thanks

  • Great Dane/Eskimo Spitz mix?

I want a Dane so bad I can't stand it...as soon as we fence our backyard, I'll be looking. Anyway, while scouring through the paper yesterday, my husband came across an ad for a dane/spitz mix. I can't even imagine what that thing would look like! I told him it might be worth calling just to see what it actually looks like.

If anyone has any pictures of one, could you send me a link?

    Thanks!

  • Keystone Class Ring?

My in-laws bought me a Keystone ring when I graduated from college 4 years ago and I really like it. The problem is that I have lost weight since then and the ring is now too big. I tried taking it to a jeweler to have them size it, but because of the type of metal, I was told that I had to send it back to the company for sizing. I have been buying ring guards to keep it from spinning around on my finger, but I think I'll send it and have them size it. The problem is, I can't find an address or anything to send it to. Does anyone know where to send it to, or am I just stuck buying ring guards?

  • Anyone taking Lexipro?

I was just prescribed this for GAD. I haven't taken the 1st dose yet, but I wondered if anyone else is taking it and can tell me how they felt initially. I know it takes several weeks for the full effect to become apparent, but once it does, how bad are the side effects? The one that concerns me is decreased sex drive. Mine is low as it is, I'm afraid that this will make it worse. Any advice?

  • Co-dependent vs. normal protectiveness?

I am seeing a counselor for the first time tomorrow, but have been doing some reading on my own. I'm afraid that I have a co-dependency problem based on my reading. I wonder though, how one draws the line between being truly co-dependent and wanting to protect those you love. For instance, I am in a situation right now where a lot of people are going to be affected. I want to protect them all, but is that becasuse I'm co-dependent or just a normal instinct to protect those I love? I'm going to mention this to the counselor tomorrow, I just wanted some other opinions as well. No smart-*** answers either, please.

  • What defines being on the "cusp"?

I have always heard of being on the cusp of 2 signs, so you have characteristics of both signs. How close do you have to be to be in the cusp? For instance, my birthday is Aug. 26, so I am a Virgo, but Leo ends on Aug. 22. Would I be considered on the cusp?

  • Who has seen Hostel 2 and how did it compare to the 1st one?

My husband and I just rented it over the weekend, and I was disappointed. I was expecting more torture scenes like in the 1st one. Yeah, it had some gross parts, but they didn't show what happened to the blond girl, only that they guy came back into the room covered in blood. It wasn't nearly as shocking as the 1st one was...I still have to look away when the achilles tendon gets cut.

Overall, Hostel 2 was a poor follow-up to the original.

  • Am I just lucky?

Listening to my husband this morning tell me about relationship advice he had given female co-workers in the past, I realized that those women probably hate me for landing such a great man. He truly understands women and what we need to be happy. He treats me so well, is always there for me to lean on, ready to give a compliment or listen to me vent after a bad day. My phone is full of the sweetest text messages from him, and they come out of the blue while I am at work.

We have our ups and downs too, but overall, our relationship is as close to perfect as you can get. He is truly my best friend and I am his. I cannot imagine my life without him.

  • In Yahoo Mail, how do i get bulk email I deleted?

Mail from unknown addresses automatically goes to my bulk mail, and I am expecting an important email from someone not in my address book. I accidentally deleted all of my bulk mail without scanning it first, and I need to check it and see if that email was in there. It didn't go to my trash, and I have searched my mail for it with the search button, and it's not coming up. Does that mean that I can't get it because it was bulk, or have I just not recieved it yet?

  • Lethal injection cruel and unusual punishment?

Why are death row inmates, scheduled to die for the crimes they have committed, allowed to file lawsuits in the first place? I just read that 2 inmates have filed suits alleging that lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment because "IF" not enough anesthetic is administered, the inmate feels pain. WTF? One of them was convicted of shooting and killing 2 cops, the other convicted of killing a couple and shooting their 2 year old! How do these people have any rights whatsoever? Is the result of their actions not "cruel and unusual punishment" since their families have to live without them and that 2 year old will likely not even remember his parents? I am just outraged at this! Just as a convicted felon loses his/her gun rights and right to vote, so should inmates lose all rights when they enter the prison system. Why are we so concerned with how the inmates feel when they obviously had a disregard for society as a whole, or they wouldn't be where they are.

  • Why are concerts not on weekends anymore?

I've noticed a trend over the last few years. Concerts, whether they are at a club or an arena/stadium are held on weeknights. WTF? I have kids and a job, I can't be staying out until 3 or 4 am and go to work the next day. Not anymore, anyway. So, does anyone know why concerts aren't on weekends? Van Halen is starting their tour about 2 hours from me. Can I go? No, it's on a Thursday night. Why not Friday night or Sat? It's really starting to piss me off.

  • How to keep my cats from spraying my couch?

I have 2 cats, a male and a female. Both of them have been fixed and they are indoor-only cats, and they are vaccinated. We have 2 seperate litter boxes and they're kept clean. Yet one or both (we don't know, since they do it at night) are spraying my couch. Luckily, the couch has been scotch-guarded and the urine has not soaked through to the cushions, but it is a major inconvenience to have to wash cushion covers every day. How do I keep them from doing this?

  • Why can't I get a credit card?

I have NEVER had a credit card, car loan or anything. I paid off the medical bills that were on my credit report, and was able to buy my home in March. I have made my mortgage payments on time, and I thought that after a few months, this open account would show on my credit report and I'd be able to get a credit card. Not so. I applied for a Victoria's Secret card the other day and was turned down. Why am I trustworthy enough to finance a home, but I can't finance a bra? The saleslady said that it was probably because I've moved in the last 6 months, but I was at my previous address for 4 years! I just don't understand this. I just zapped my credit report with yet another inquiry, and for what? Why can people with thousands in credit card debt get more cards and I can't get one with no debt other than my mortgage? Someone in the financial field please explain this to me.

  • Why do people think?

That weight loss is a quick thing and that they'll get 6 packs from doing 500 crunches a day? Diet and exercise are the only ways to lose weight and you have to balance the 2 in order to do it. You can't do a fad diet and expect to keep the weight off long term, nor can you spot-reduce and just lose weight in one area. Weight loss is hard work, there is no "easy" way to do it, you have to work hard to lose it and the sooner people realize that, the better off they'll be. Cutting calories to less than 1200 per day isn't going to help when you end up in the hospital. The diet industry is getting rich off of people who are overweight and want an easy fix. There isn't one, so if you want to lose weight the healthy way and keep it off, get up and exercise, eat the right number of calories in the right portions, and you'll keep it off long term. I've lost 50 lbs without a gag, a fad, or a pill, and I've kept it off.

  • Why do people think that weight loss is easy? That they can pop a pill and never break a sweat?

Im so tired of peole whining that they want to lose weight, which pill should they take. The key to weight loss is diet and exercise. If you work out, great! You have to keep pushing yourself or you won't get anywhere.I just don't understand why people think that it's going to be easy to burn calories.Fad diets don't work and neither do pills. Is that really so hard to understand? You didn't gain the weight overnight, you're not going to lose it that way.Let's also not forget that yo-yo dieting hurts your body in the long run.But that's all for them to figure out.Let the pill-poppers have a heart attack when their heart rate gets up too high. They have been warned.
