Keep or Return the Gift?

So I asked a question the other day:

Now, today I just received a gift in the mail from this bridesmaid that dropped out a month before my wedding. After some thought, I sent her a pretty strongly worded e-mail about how upset I am, how friends don't treat eachother this way, and not to bother calling me again. According to my registry she bought me this gift before she even notified me she isn't coming to the wedding. I have no intention of continuing a friendship with her,but it all was really her fault and she admits that. Do you think I should keep this gift or mail it back to her?

    Sending the gift back is the ultimate slap in the face. Be the better person and don;t do that, if she's rude, crass and unconsiderate, you don't have to be.

    In the other hand, having the gift around would be a constant remninder of her. If I was you I would return the gift to the store and get something else or a refund, or donate it to charity. I would send a very generic thank you card and leave it like that.

    If you are going to patch things, keep the gift and try to work on your friendship. If you feel that things cant be worked out and want nothing to do with her again, send it back.... To me, you sound like you want to work things out. People get jealous and weird around weddings and hurt people.

    If you really want her to know you are mad / angry about the situation, send it back.

    prolly you should but i say DONT! if she aks for it maybe but i would think she would feel guilty enough to let you keep it.

    are you really never gonna forgive this girl? i think you will someday....i think you should someday...maybe not now....maybe she has very personal issues that she isn't comfortable sharing with you....
