Question

I am having a destination wedding on the beach in Clearwater, FL.  I didn't want to have regular favors because I don't want people to have to pack them when they leave.  So I decided on goody bags for when they arrive.  So I bought little canvas backpacks (like beachbags) and things to put in them: a kite, a beach ball, a folding fan, and a can insulator so that they can use the things while they are on vacation but don't have to feel bad if they throw them away instead of packing them and taking them home.  Would you like this if you were a guest?

I would love it.  Very thoughtful.  Nobody expects a wedding favor anyhow.  It will be so much fun for your guests to find your present waiting for them when they check into their rooms, too.

I think the basic idea is a good one... I just think the items you have picked sound more like gifts for a kid's birthday party.  

Perhaps you could include some water bottles or snacks for when they are in the hotel, or even sun block and a visor.  I think I would get more use out of that stuff than a kite and beach ball.

I think that is a great idea! It is always cool to go with the theme of the wedding... and these are perfect items for a beach wedding. Plus, if they want to take the items home, they can always use the canvas beachbag as their carry-on.

Sounds like fun!  What an unexpected gift! (the best kind!) It's actually something that people can use even after they leave, which I'm sure they will appreciate, and it sets the mood for the wedding as fun instead of stuffy.

I sounds like useless trinkets (a kite? c'mon!) that they will throw away and will not be able to use.

Fill up the canvas bags with USEFUL unexpensive items while vacationing: bottled water, lip balm, gum, sun screen, flip flops, a visor etc.

It not a bad idea, it seems like a lot of stuff though. You should do whatever you REALLY want! That is what makes your special day, "special"! And congratulations my fellow Floridian!

I think it sounds great...who needs another picture frame?  At least the items can be used while they are there.
