elderly lawn service?

My girlfriend's grandma volunteers with meals on wheels... one of their little old ladies cried to her with a story about her being very old and not being able to tend to her lawn. Now she's been cited by the city to have it cut, or she will be fined up the wazoo... With no family and very little money what can she do... I don't have a lawn mower, or I'd do it myself, and the work that needs to be done is so extreme, it would cost more than an arm and a leg to just pay a lawn service to come out and tend to that for her... What or where can I go to get this little very precious lady some help...

God Bless all...

Update:

yeah this old lady has nothing, and in being humble myself, I really don't have the money to pay anyone what the job is really worth, i couldn't take advantage of someone willing to do it cheap... would rather just help someone who has a service do the work...

You should SO unleash a bunch of goats on her yard.

  • IF your area has First Call for help dial 211 from a land line phone and ask the United Way or answering agency after you explain. Often times a church or local support agency may be able to assist her.

Her area should have a service for seniors that she may be able to call and explain the situation r she can contact the local agency that handles disability services and perhaps they can arrange it. If there are community service organizations in the area contact one or many of them or - poll your friends and family and see if the group you create can remedy the issue.

Gather some Friends together and make a day of it have a picnic for them with soem food (Hotdogs and Burgers) ECT.... try starting a community project in the area to help some of the Elderly in your area that need things like minor home repair or yard work thats cheap or can be paid off for food for every one involved.

if she has a lawn mower, use it. gets some friends together and make a day out of it.

see if there are any churches in the area that would be able to take care of it.....teens are always needing extra cash for camps and stuff

I would go to one of your local churches or synagogues. I am sure that there is a young parishioner that is cutting lawns during the summer.

try the local Boy Scouts, or go to the closest church or community center.
