New training aid at Curves?

I am considering joining Curves. The trainer there told me that very soon this location would be getting new training aid something like a personal trainer. It connects to teach excercise equipment and can gage how well one is progressing. It is individualized with the help fo a card that is inserted each time one exercises.

Is anyone familiar with this and is it worth the time, effort and money?

Our Curves doesn't have it (it's called Curves Smart), but from what I've read from others, they love it. It keeps track of how hard you're working on each machine, your range of motion and number of reps. It has lights (green, yellow, red) that indicate if you're working too little or too much on the machine. At the end of your workout, you can log in to a computer to see how you did - what muscles you worked well on, which ones you need to work harder on. And it gives you a "calories burned" figure for the workout.

What I would suggest is, if you do join, to just do the regular workout at first to get yourself used to the machines, etc. When the Curves Smart machines come in, they may have a promotion to cut the cost (since it costs a little more - like $5/month plus some sort of setup fee per person). If it were me, I'd jump in when there's a promotion (like waiving the setup fee).
