you are not in active first stage labor but probably more like pre-labor. you don't need to go to the hospital until you are having contractions that are 5 minutes apart and lasting 60 seconds long.

I had contractions when I was 34 weeks pregnant, they were 5-6 minutes apart, I went to the hospital- got admitted and was there for 3 days while they tried to stop my labor, I was on 2 different medications and took shots in the arm every 6 hours- after the 3rd day they realized it was not letting up, Yet I wasn't dialating at all. I contracted from 34 weeks until 40 and a half weeks, I was over due, and got put on pitocin after they checked my fluid and I was low, Later that night They did a c-section because I couldn't get past 4.. Sometimes women just contract.. Possibly to much caffeine or if you smoke that can make you contract. There are many things that contribute. Best of luck!!

I would go get checked out if you are close to the hospital. If not call your doctor and discuss your concerns. When I was in active labor, there was no pattern to my contractions. I would have contractions anywhere from 2 minutes to 9 minutes apart.

my ob said if you have more than 4 contractions in an hour which is about 15 min apart you need to go to labor & delivery to get checked but since you have been having these every hour for 2 days I would go to the hospital to get checked . good luck

You need to go get checked. Normally, they say when contractions are 5 min apart for an hour to go get looked at. Since this has been going on for 2 days you need to go now. Good luck!

call your midwife to let her know you think its started. if your waters break, go to hospital immediately. otherwise stay at home for as long as you feel comfortable and in control. you'll know when you need to move to the next level.
good luck!
