Would this be considered insomnia?

Hey, I don't know if this is the right section . . . but anyway.

I was wondering if this could be called "insomnia." For about, 2 weeks now - I haven't really been able to sleep. I stay up for about 25-30 hours and, when I finally do go to sleep, I sleep for around 2-3 hours. Sometimes, I'll fall back asleep about 5 hours after I wake up - but again, I only sleep for another 2-3 hours.

So, I'm averaging about 3-5 hours of sleep for every 30 or so hours I'm awake.

I don't feel bad or anything. Like, sometimes I feel somewhat drowsy all day, move slower and all. But, for the most part, I'm pretty normal. So, I'm not really concerned with it. Plus, I get a lot of extra time to just mess around. =)

I was just curious if this is some form of insomnia. *shrugs*

Thanks for any help.

you may not notice any symptoms now but it will soon catch up to you.

Your body needs at least 1/3 sleep to the amount your are awake so 8 hours a night sleep works out fine normally. for you if you are awake 30 hours then you will need to sleep for 10 hours.

Maybe you have alot on your mind? or you have an unuseral sleeping patten and for some strange reason your body is not used to the fact your supposed to sleep at night!

Try setting a certain time to goto sleep (dont keep altering it)

Say midnight every night (except weekends of course) turn the T.V off and then try to get to sleep. try not to look at the clock too as this will not help.

If you still find after a couple of days you cant sleep then get up and do something practical for an hour or so like housework or have a bath. it has to be something either relaxing or something that will make you more tired and take your mind off sleeping!

Try this for a while but if all else fails.....see doctor or buy some night nurse

    Hope this helps

Call it 50/50. With a few 30 years of sleep insomnia underneath my belt I wager you've gotten the indicators of insomnia however now not the entire insomnia definition. Suggestion - sluggish your considering down earlier than going to mattress. Don't do pressure matters like paying expenditures earlier than bedtime! Go to the under web page for a handy run down at the motives for insomnia and standard insomnia signs.

I had the same problem a month ago. You have to move around and do something that makes you tired and also wake up early so that at night you can sleep instead of staying up. But this is what i do and it helps. But maybe you just need to free your mind. You might be stressing too much. Go to a Yoga class or something or use FitnessTv if you have it. Good luck!

Please take this into consideration. It worked for me, although I am not you.

I had overwhelming anxiety and insomnia. It turned out to be my use of Splenda. Yup Splenda. How could something that taste so good, be so bad?

I like to say sucralose, not Splenda, because that is what Splenda is. And it is in a lot of stuff. The package doesn't have to say Splenda to have sucralose in it. You have to read labels. So, you might still be using it and don't even know it!

Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it, including overwhelming anxiety, depression, mood swings, insomnia and more.

Go ahead, google: anxiety splenda or anxiety sucralose or insomnia splenda or insomnia sucralose

The slogan, "Made from sugar..." is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.

carbon monoxide - made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air
