my mom gave my dog away 2years ago, and I still miss my dog and wanna see her?

My mom gave me a puppy when I was 15. I took care of her everyday and she was my best friend. My mom was very emotionally abusive. She gave my puppy away to SPCA about a year later just to punish me. Now I'm almost 19. I live by myself, make my own money.

when my puppy was at SPCA, i went to visit her everyday. then people from SPCA didn't let me see her because they said i was making her depressed. so i was outside the fence everyday. about 2 weeks later she was adopted.

I just wanna see her again. Is there any way that I can see her again?

Update:

if i try to tell SPCA my story, do you think they are gonna help me?

This is very sad, but I would recommend that you move on. Be thankful that you're out on your own making your own money.

Also, for privacy reasons, I doubt the SPCA would give you that information.

BTW... if your dog was given up when you were 15 and you're 19... that was 4 years ago.

This is a really sad situation. I'm depressed now picturing you doing that. I do not think that the SPCA will give out information of the new owner. She's in a good home. You have to move on.

That's horrible of both your mother and the SPCA.

But there's little you can do. You could contact the head of that shelter and ask for the name of the people who adopted your dog (Im sure they have records), but I doubt they would tell you, as they dont want people annoying the new owners about their old pets, trying to steal the pets, ect. Not that you would, but those types of organizations are all paranoid like that.

So you can try that, but otherwise all you can do is move on I guess.

I really dont think there's any way that you will be able to see her.

She was adopted out.. it would be illegal for the SPCA to provide you information about her new owners.. they most likely may not even have that information anymore anyways.

Its sad that your mom did that to you, but you will just have to accept that the SPCA found her a good home and she is loved and cared for.

    I agree with Dave C.

But you can check with the SPCA and see if they have another puppy that is like yours.

Possibly an abuse or neglected animal so you will be even more needed. (SO MANY need you now!)

I had a cat stolen and know who took her but since she lives in a lock up building I can't prove it... so I had to get another cat. She is still in my heart but that's where it has to stay.

    good luck >^..^<

I'm going to be honest, you don't sound like a great dog owner. Maybe if you cleaned up after your dog it might help, instead of relying on your sister to do the work. If your sister is the one cleaning up after it, and caring for it, its more her dog than yours! But that aside, I recently had to give away my dog, and I know how painful it is. Its probably best for your dog, your mum resents the dog, and your sister is tired of it too, so its probably for the best. Hey, at least shes going to your grandparents, so you can see her a lot and know shes with good people. I gave my dog back to the breeder, and shes keeping her & I'm allowed to visit which helped ease the pain a lot.

You could try and get the new owners details by explaining to the spca what has happened but i dont think it will work !

Sorry but i dont think you will be able to see her again, maybey you could get another dog to help you forget about your old dog!!

I would be soo upset if my mum took my dog away and feel sooo sorry for you !!!

I believe they will help you. That's horrible your story.I know how it feels to have to give up your best friend to someone else. When I was five we moved and had to give my dog to the neighbors. Our neighbors said that everyday my dog would come to our door waiting for us.In fact it still gets me today when I think of it.But do feel blessed that your dog was taken by good people and it gets to live a life of happiness. And even if they don't let you have the information mark my words when I say you will see her again. And there is another dog out there right now that needs you if feel up to the task. Once again very sad and I know your pain.
