What evidence is there your religion is not utter nonsense?

My religion is natural pantheism, I believe in the Universe. The evidence of it's existence and role as reality is pretty much all around us. So...I'm thinking it's not nonsensical to believe in it.

Where there are facts, you do not have to believe - you KNOW.

Belief is about personal truth, maybe the unproven or unprovable.

Facts will not influence a belief to which you are emotionally attached and neither will seeking to denigrate that belief.

I have no religious belief so have no axe to grind but if religion brings comfort to someone in a time of need or guidance in a time of uncertainty, then it serves a useful purpose for them. It may be utter tosh to me ... but that is just another of those awkward personal beliefs.

Heh, prove I'm not mentally challenged? I'm not sure I can do that, but if I check my dayplanner I can let you know when i stopped beating my wife. Do you seriously intend to convey the image of someone who is all set to write anything I have to say off as the ravings of a madman? That's a lot of pressure on me to say something you agree with so that you are willing to think for more than two seconds about anything else I might say.

Do you believe in love, justice, loyalty, duty, honour? What facts do you have to prove that the food you eat will not poison you? How do you know you can trust your doctor?

You cannot live without faith. Faith is accepting something as true without facts. Without faith you become paranoid.

so facts are needed in order to be real or its just delusional...what about the Wright brothers who invented the airplane...they had not facts flight was possible...with your logic man should never advance because facts can't support things that haven't been invented yet...they are just beliefs without facts...

The whole thing is based on a concept called 'Faith'. It is a gamble which can only be resolved by dying. It has nothing to do with intelligence: some of the best brains have had faith.

Everybody is mentally challenged, isn't that what makes the world so much fun to live in.

ok the first "christian" church was orthodox - it was used to put fear into people to control them, then the romans decided they didnt want to be ruled from greece so they started their own church -- - - every church since has been set up cause people didnt like the existing ones so they make their own rules up

some people need to live in fear of being smitted,
