Does anybody have any idea where the Aircraft Carriers..?

U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt and U.S.S. Ronald Reagan are at this moment in time? How about the Helicopter Landing Assault Carriers U.S.S. Peleliu and U.S.S. Iwo Jima? Know what other navies are presently task forced with them?

Update:

I already know where they are, so does Fox News, however the rest of the world's media is pretending not to know their present location!

Update 2:

In case you not sure of the number of vessels in a Carrier Battle Group there are some 40 warships Tasked Forced together. My regrets for ommitting Canada's navy as part of this task force

Update 3:

Monchanger (Cute!) - The cat is already out of the bag, has been since 11 Aug 2008

Update 4:

rememberthecole - What I find truly amazing and sad is how many people have answered this question without doing the slightest bit of research only to offer us the benefit of their limited knowlegde of military affairs colored by their two dimentional thinking. Your's, so far, has been the worst and least informed of them all. That is being real...

Obviously, nobody will give you information that is not to be made publicly available. The locations and missions of U.S. naval vessels, while at times must remain secret, is more often than not freely provided.

For example, see the provided link for recent news on the U.S.S. Ronald Regan. The second link is a Navy web page containing links to the pages of all carriers. Other information is provided on other locations on that website.

Another good source of news is the White House press office, which will often provide information on fleet deployments. The current administration has been more secretive than the norm, but on the other hand is more than happy to flex its muscles by informing Russia that we have a fleet nearby.

Get real. Look at the location of Georgia. For any US aircraft carrier or assault ship to be close by they would have to sail into the Black Sea. They would be sitting ducks for the Russians if any shooting started as they would have a very limited range of operation due to the relatively small size of the Black sea. Not to mention the extraordinary salt water layers there that would make it very hard to defend against subs. If the USA was going to get any planes involved it would be safer to have them come out of the USAF bases in Turkey. That is just as close and bigger/better planes could be used such as F22s, B1s, B2s, and who knows, maybe the F117 has not really been retired and we only think they are sitting in the hangers at the Tonopah Test Range. It would not be the first time something got "retired" only to be used once again. Like the U2 and SR71.

all the media has is generalities: "off the Gold coast" "conducting operation in the Bering Strait"

SPECIFICS are and continue to be CLASSIFIED. Not even the Ombudsman for the ships know exactly w here the ships are,and they have a direct line to the CO.

  • USS Abe is stationed at Everett, WA

USS Roosevelt is a Norfolk, VA

USS Regan is at San Diego, CA

USS Peleiu is at San Diego, CA

USS Iwo Jima is at Norfolk, VA

As far as current assignments...I live in Newport News, VA and I believe the two Norfolk ships are currently here.
