Is Red #40 bad for you? ?

I heard my dog cant have any food with Red 40 in it is that true?

    Red dye 40 is in a lot of dog treats, some dogs have allergies to it. I can't give my pup any treats with that in it because it aggravates his skin allergies.

    suspected of being carcinogenic. Personally, i refuse to feed anything with dyes....
