My cat has been throwing up constantly. ?
He's and all white inside cat. He's about 4 years old. I took him to the vet 2 weeks ago because he had some kind of rash or he was itching himself too much. They gave us amoxicillin and ilemastine. i think that's how it's spelled. He started puking on Saturday or Sunday. He was introduced to a cat and a dog. It was only for an hour or 2 that they were here. For the first 2 days it was really bad, Lately it's been just food instead of vile. Whenever I give him his medicine it makes him puke even worse so for the past few days he hasn't gotten any. He eats very little but he still drinks water. What should I do? Is there any kind of home remedy because I can't afford the vet again. If I have to I will find the money some how. I'm really worried about him. He's still his normal self besides the puking.
also I've recently changed his food. He was fine until he got into it and probly ate too much. He threw up that night. Which was most likely Saturday.

I am seven days into a fourteen day antibiotic for my cat too, she will vomit too if she does not have any food in her tummy. I give her a fresh can of fancy feast before the meds.. Please give her the meds calmly and a little at a time, not squirt it in all at once that will make her barf too. GOOD LUCK!!

Sometimes it's just what cats do. My cat's about 8 years old now and never threw up until about a year ago, then bam, everywhere, all the time. I've tried the hairball stuff you can buy at pet stores(which I'd recommend at least trying) and that didn't work. It's gotten a lot better lately, like he only seems to do it at night, which as you can imagine is quite annoying since when a cat pukes it's loud and it always wakes me up and I know I'm gonna have a mess to clean in the morning. I took my cat to the vet and she said that nothing was wrong and sometimes cats just start doing this. She recommended the hairball medicine(which is only a couple bucks) and maybe a change in diet since he normally throws up after eating. Well, he actually does nothing but eat so I don't know if there's a time when he hasn't just eaten.
Anyway, if this is something more than what I just described, and you truly are worried about it being worse than just hairballs then get your cat to the vet. Also, since you were just at the vet, and they prescribed the medication, you can call them and they will help you. I hope it's nothing too serious, but you should definitely be able to tell the severity of it.

Did you look up the side effects of the medication? Try that first. I don't think it could be from the other animals, but I am not a Vet, so dont take my word for it. If you find out it is not the medication then call your vet. They might not even charge you since you were there a few weeks ago. If they do ask if they can put you on a payment plan. Good luck!

Sounds like an obstruction, that is preserving him from swallowing some thing greater than liquid. At least he is ingesting, so would possibly not turn out to be dehydrated..... You do not say how historic he's, or whether or not he is wasting plenty of weight, however something you could do is........scent his breath. If it is "fruity", or smells like acetone (fingernail polish remover), there may be the possibility that he would be establishing diabetes. This scent is without doubt one of the indicators of diabetes, which can also be managed with vitamin and probably insulin injections. I have a diabetic cat ( two yrs in view that his prognosis ), supply him insulin two times an afternoon, and he is doing excellent. So, well that you are taking your cat to the vet the following day. Hopefully, anything his concern, it's not too severe, and can also be cured or managed. Hope you have not waited too lengthy to take him.... :-( Good good fortune.......

It sounds like he might be having a reaction to the medication. Call your vet and talk to him/her on the phone and tell him/her what is happening. Your vet may be able to change medicines without charge.
Good Luck

I can't really speak for your cat. But when mine...'regurgitates' it's often because he eats too quickly. However, from what you have said your cat may be allergic to the antibiotics he's having. There's nothing else I can suggest other than call your vet.
Best wishes for you and your cat.

There could be all sorts of things wrong, and no one can diagnose accurately over the Internet. Take him back to the Vet, and see if they will take payments
