How many people came to your Friday wedding?

We're getting married next July, 3pm wedding, 6pm reception. If you had a Friday wedding, how many people did you invite, and how many showed to the ceremony and reception?

Update:

Pax - That's actually what we're hoping for. the capacity for the chapel is less than what we're inviting.. and I'm trying to figure out (with everyone's help) the percentage that will show to either or.. and whether or not we need to invite to ceremony only..

Update 2:

oh yeah, everyone will fit in the reception hall with NO problem what so ever..

Whenever you get married on a Friday, let alone at 3pm, you can't expect any more than your immediate family members attending the ceremony. Most people work and some can't get the time away from work to attend such an early ceremony. Generally, when one gets married on a Friday, it's usually an evening ceremony...around 6pm!

I was in a wedding this past Friday, and there were over 80 guests. Almost everyone who was invited showed up, except for some of the groom's family who live in another country.

DO NOT invite people to the ceremony if you don't have room for them. Even if you're 99% sure they won't show up, what will you do if they do show up? You have to be able to accommodate everyone you invite. Now, if you will be able to accommodate them, but only by letting them stand crowded around the pews, I think that's actually okay, but they do have to be able to fit in somehow. You don't want people you've invited to have to wait outside, or watch through the windows.

250 showed up for the reception. About half that showed up for the church.

Thats a good question as i am also getting married in July on a friday! Thanks for thinking of the question first.

It also depends on your family and if they want to take the day off.
