39 weeks, what is going on here?

Question

yesterday, i was having some contractions on and off through the day. they didn't really hurt, they just felt like period cramps. they started around 4pm yesterday and contiuned through the night while i was sleeping. i woke up suddenly at 4am feeling very, very sick. i had cold chills, i couldn't stop shaking, and i was having some pretty intense contractions every 3-4 minutes. i thought i was in labor, but everything stopped after about half an hour. so i went back to sleep, and woke up again two hours later with more contractions. the contractions were 3-4 minutes apart the second time, and after they stopped i ended up with horrible diarrhea and vomiting (i know, gross). i finally woke up about an hour ago with diarrhea and vomiting again, but i am not having any more contractions. could this be the onset of labor, or have i caught a flu bug? 

i have a doctors appointment today. at my last appointment, i was 2cm, the baby was at 0 station, and my cervix had started to thin out some.

i have a doctors appointment in a couple hours. i was just wondering if this has happened to anybody else.

Sounds like your body is getting ready for labor, it could still be some time though, Your body is just getting ready and getting rid of everything that's taking up extra room in your body so it's easier for the baby to come out. Good Luck!

yes this happened to me friday night around same time and everything crazy! i am now 3 days past my due date and was told it could be onset of labor but here i am lol still pregnant. im going today to get induced. but just tell your doctor all those symptoms if ur worried about baby ask for a stress test maybe they might make u wait till ur dude date to do it. but dont leave anything out when u see ur doc good luck!!

I am 40 weeks and I experianced the same thing at 38 weeks! It was horrible I thought I was sick the doctors told me that I my body was cleaning itslef out of labor my contractiosn never got regular tho I went to the L&D and they put lost of fluids in me and this slowed my contractions down and they sent me home.

that actually happened to me 2 weeks ago..i spent the night on the toilet and had the garbage can infront of my face..i had horrible back contractions..everything stopped :(..

yes sounds like labour it can have mad effects on the body my last child my contractions were allover the place,hopefully itll be allover this time tomorrow.good luck.
