Why am I in pain right now?
As a dancer, I have to do a lot of things that are flexibility-oriented. Ths past week, however, the left side of my groin has been hurting, and it really hurts when I kick or do the splits on the right side. What exactly is it and how do I ease the pain? Thank you for easing my ache!!

It's a very common injury - you pulled a groin muscle. Recommend you stop dancing for a few days in order to rest the muscle (this is important as you can make the injury worse), apply ice to the area to reduce swelling and pain, (no more than 15 minutes at a time), take ibuprofen/tylenol for inflammation, and apply heat to the muscles after awhile to get the muscles warmed back up. Once you start to get active again, ONLY do gentle stretching to work the muscle - you can injure it again and more seriously if you do not take care.

It sounds to me like a muscle pull. Make sure you have stretched properly before doing any kicks or similar.
Hot bath, massage the sore spot and take Advil (Ibuprofen).
