In which way has this spin spun?
(Purely objective, i'm not looking for a specific answer.)
Earlier this week, Barack Obama said "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig" in reference to McCain's 'excessive' use of earmarks in the past. Within a day, the McCain camp quickly demanded an appology for these 'sexist' statements toward Palin.
Obama then responded by claim the statement was not sexist, as it was not in reference to Sarah Palin, and pointed out that Palin herself said "the difference between a soccer mom and a bulldog is lipstick" and McCain earlier (a few months ago) said the exact same expression as Obama, with the exact same phrasing, about Hillary Clinton.
Who is the sexist, if anyone, and who is doing the ''spinning'?

It all comes out of the same play-book the Republicans have been using right along.
"Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it."
"All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach."
"How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think."
"By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise."
"If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed."
"The victor will never be asked if he told the truth."
"I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator."
"Who says I am not under the special protection of God?"
All Republican campaign methods. All by Adolf Hitler.

McCain used that same phrase, last October, in reference to Hillary Clinton's health plan.
It is clear that Obama was referring to the "change" that McCain was offering. The McCain camp wasted no time in getting out an ad relating the comment to Palin.
It is obvious that McCain is fighting dirty and Obama had better get his counterattack plans in order or he'll be swiftboated by very accomplished propagandists.

If what you said is true and McCain said the same thing about Hillary, then you are absolutely correct. It's just that I never heard McCain say it. Also, I don't think it was a coincidence that Obama said it shortly after Palin and her pittbull/lipstick comment.

It was clearly a sexist remark in reference to Palin's lipstick on a pitbull. That's the difference. Obama's own supporters picked up on it, after he said it they began chanting "No more pitbulls." Obama thinks the American public is stupid.
And so does the liberal media.
Obviously, the media has spun in favor of Liberals.

Obama took a chance, a not very well-considered one, to score some points with his base.
He should deny any sexist intent, and should apologise to prove sincerity.
Part of the issue is, Obama doesn't like admitting he made a mistake. For a guy running against the legacy of George W. Bush, he certainly shares a similar temperment.

Obviously McCain, he is trying to take Obama's language and use it out of context, so that the "stupid" America would like him better.

Obama knew what he was doing. He's spinning it to say "Hey look! McCain is shifting the focus from the issues to pick on me for using home-spun metaphors. He's mean!"

This is all a ploy. The republicans are doing it to us again and people are falling for it. I hope after the next 4 years of misery people will wake up and start voting for what actually affects us but Im not going to hold my breath.

I thought Obama was smart! If he is as smart as he is, he would have spot the issue? Plus, he is a man from Harvard.

...Obama is like "Willey Coyote" trying to catch the Roadrunner; the "heat is on" and he doesn't have a clue how to cool it down... (he knew exactly what he was saying and the implications that went with it.) One thing Obama is not... that is a dummy... he's not a dummy. Ignorant, yes.
