Full faith and credit law and gay marriage.?

If this clause insures that a law passed in one state should be observed in all other states, why is gay marriage that is made legal in Mass. and Calif. not automatically legal in the other 48 states?

My government book: under the full faith and credit laws, a same-sex marriage recognized in Mass. would be? the answer the book gives is: "carry the full force of law in every other state."

    The clause does not insure that any state has to observe a law passed in another state. You need to go read up some more.

    If that were the case, no state government would be able to function.

    Montana has no speed limit on the interstates, so does that mean that someone with a Montana license can ignore speed limits in other states?

    Simple.....my limp wristed swishy friend. No state can pass a law for another. That's what the feds are for. But.........the feds have already stated and the US Supreme Court has ruled many years ago, it's a state issue. Another example: ok to drive 65 mph on most california freeways, but if the max is 55 in Colorado - ....

    basic.....my limp wristed swishy chum. No state can bypass a regulation for yet yet another. that's what the feds are for. yet.........the feds have already reported and the U. S. very ultimate courtroom docket has ruled some years interior the previous, it relatively is a state undertaking. yet yet another occasion: very properly to stress sixty 5 mph on maximum california freeways, yet while the max is fifty 5 in Colorado - ....     They refuse to recognize it. It will have to be tested in the courts. Of course, this was the plan all along.

    I am not a lawyer, but I believe that it will be honored, as a legal marriage, but they will not perform a marriage themselves.
