Question for Jews: Will you accept Jesus Christ if he comes for the second time?
There have been many dreams and visions among Christians and Muslims about second coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus was a Jew and his avowed mission was to retrieve the lost sheep of children of Israel. He was bestowed with earth shattering miracles, but the Jews did not accept him as a messenger of God . Because they were hard pressed by slavery of the Romans and wanted a Messiah who could liberate them. But Jesus wanted them to follow God's commands to win again His favor, so that He has mercy on them and free them from slavery. With hindsight, it was all a matter of priorities.
Now over 2000 years have passed. No Jewish prophet has come nor the diaspora has effectively ended. Would it not be a good idea to repent and accept authority of Jesus to rule from seat of David.?Prophet Muhammad has prophesied that when Jesus will rule the world, the earth will be blessed with bounty and peace. A cow will give so much milk that it will suffice a tribe and an apple will grow that could fill the stomachs of a whole family. Would you like to avail this last chance of repentance ?
Hi Kismet. What Christians think of Jesus is of no concern to us. The question is from Jews, would they give him another chance to explain his mission or reject him outright, as they did before?
The Jesus I am talking about will fulfill all the prophesies about return of Jews to Jerusalem and will also establish a just order which Christians call Kingdom of God on earth, but it will be same just and honest leadership as the Jews have seen in the era of David and Solomon. All nations will accept him as
their rightful ruler.
Question is, will Jews accept and recognize him when he comes and explains his mission or after he has estblished himself as ruler of the world?
My heart bleeds, you did not accept him because he came as a pauper and with no worldly power. Will you accept him this time or wait till he gains control of the world?I am afraid, at that time this option may not be available!
AlChaim JP!
I am talking about religion and not philosophy. Waht about prophecy Jesus made about destruction of temple of David and his words came true in that not one stone remained on the other, exactly as he said. And the diaspora which continued nearly for 2000 years. A messenger of God cannot speak on his own, but only says what he is askded to say.
I am getting disappointed. I have great respect for the intelligence and knowledge of Jews, but I am afraid, here I am talking to closed minds and closed eyes. It does not matter at all what Christians think of Jesus. The question is, if Jesus was a real messenger of God, who came with a program of salvation for Jews, how would they justify their refusal to accept him. Those familiar with 16th Century Feudal history of Europe, even a small feudal lord would not send his son to the door of a peasent, but an ordinary soldier or even a peon and the peasent will take his orders seriously and rush to his lord, leaving everything behind. But God Almighty, Who created, sustained and protected the Jewish nation and killed hundreds of kings and destroyed dozens of nations for them, sends His messenger to guide them to His true path, yet they reject him outright and still claim to be the chosen people. Choice always goes with responsibility and never with rejection and lax attitude.

Your anger is misdirected. I am asking Jews, Christian beliefs do not even have any relevance. As a 21st century educated Jews, who have reason and independent thinking, can they consider Jesus in light of his words and give him a chance to prove that He is the promised Messiah. Because if you reject Him, without even listening to him, you will automatically align yourselves with his enemies. If he was sent by God, the proof of which would be his second coming, then rejecting him will end your chances of redemption. How one person can make the world a bastion of peace and tranquality, unless he is supported by a sizeable population and your demanding him to do that without giving him your support is like putting the cart before horse. A religious leader, like any other leader, draws his strength from his supporters. Every nation has erred in one period, but to make the new generation hostage of it would not be a prudent thing, in my humble opinion
GERSHON B. All I am trying is to see things rationally. Take Hindu Avtars for example. As it does not suit a just God to deprive any section of His creation of true guidance, some of them might have been prophets sent for their guidance, who with passage of time became Avtars, that is God incarnated. A sect of Muslims considers Ali, cousin of Muhammad, to be God incarnated. But that does not reduce his worth among rest of the Muslim nation. If Jesus was a prophet and is believed as son of God, how it can free the rest of the humanity to give him a fresh look, when he returns?
A correction.Pls. read the last sentence
as follows: How it can free rest of the humanity from the responsibility of having a fresh look at what he says, on his return.

As a 21st century educated Jew who has reason and independent thinking, I have considered the book the christians use and realize that there are so many flaws in it that no intelligent person would accept it. It's a typical christian ploy to say Jews are blinded when that section in Isaiah talks about GENTILES, not Jews.
Your restating the facts into "What if it were true?" does not change this.
So, I'll ask you this question. If you studied the Torah and found many things that disagreed with the book the christians use that are fundamental to your beliefs, would you reject it?
Oh, and you are mistaken that no Jewish prophets have come. It's clear you don't even understand the definition of a prophet. Maybe you should get the basics down before suggesting Jews are not intelligent.
You are לו שכל. Surely, as a supposedly intelligent xtian, you will understand that. Oh, and if you think it's insulting, then you don't understand it. It's a simple statement of fact.

I'm sorry you are so misguided and misinformed.
It's very obvious why Jews don't and will not believe in jesus. As a few people here said, he did NOT fulfill the prophesies written in the torah. And, he does not qualify as Moshiach.
Jews do not accept Jesus as the messiah because:
1) Jesus did not fulfill the messianic prophecies.
2) Jesus did not embody the personal qualifications of the Messiah.
3) Biblical verses "referring" to Jesus are mistranslations.
4) Jewish belief is based on national revelation.
Jesus was not a prophet. He was a preacher. Prophecy can only exist in Israel when the land is inhabited by a majority of world Jewry. During the time of Ezra (circa 300 BCE), when the majority of Jews refused to move from Babylon to Israel, prophecy ended upon the death of the last prophets -- Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.
What's very important is the fact that Jesus appeared on the scene approximately 350 years after prophecy had ended.
The man the christians worship may have been a good person, and he may have taught many good things. But he was not the Messiah for whom we await and have long awaited. He may have been crucified, and that's a horrible thing. But that merely proves to us that he was not the Messiah.
Jesus did not fulfill any of the basic duties of the Messiah.

You really need to pick up the REAL book, the Torah and the Tanakh and see what and who G-d is, read the prophesies and then you will see you are misguided with your thoughts.
But, no matter. Your original question was Jews, will we accept jesus if he comes a second time? NO.

short answer, no. even your bible says that Jesus would return within the lifetime of Jesus' deciples, that didn't happen, so obviously it was just a cleverly crafted fairytale. If you dont believe he was supposed to return in short order, you obviously dont trust the gospels and as such are not (by definition) a christian. The Messiah (Moshiach) concept is rather shaky anyway, personally i dont think its real since the only ACTUAL mention of THE messiah is in the Talmud, which is a fiction written by exiled babylonian Jews. they also took that time to alter the Torah, which is now just as adulterated as any religious scripture i can think of. for instance, animal sacrifice is a universally pagan concept (stay for some schools of hinduism) yet it is included in the torah as a normal practice, when at the same time torah is consistently anti-pagan in every imaginable way. worshipping in forests is forbidden, tattoos, boiling a kidd in its mother's milk etc etc. so you see what im saying

Just like you said, there is no doubt that Jesus (pbuh) is returning and there is no doubt that the anti-Christ will come to deceive many people before his return. It's not exactly who Jesus (pbuh) accepts, but rather who of US accepts him when he returns. That part is up to us, we get to choose whether we accept him or not. And our faith will determine our choice because those who are weak in faith will follow the anti-Christ instead, may Allah protect us from him and his corruptions. From what I know through many lectures, the majority that will follow Jesus (pbuh) will be Muslims true to their faith, and also some Christians who see the truth once he returns. But even many Muslims who are weak in faith will end up following the anti-Christ because he is very deceptive with his powers. The bottom line is, those who truly believe in One God and do not associate Jesus (pbuh) or anyone else to Him will see the truth inshallah and will be the ones who accept Jesus (pbuh). Those are the people with such strong faith that makes them aware of the deceptions of the anti-Christ. To my Muslim brothers and sisters, take the opportunity to memorize the first and last 10 verses of Surat al-Kahf so that if we live in the era of the Dajjal and Isa (as), we will be protected from the deceptions and be on Jesus' side! Salaam~

He explained his mission the first time. No one rejected him outright. Well, he probably never existed so he probably never explained anything. However, there's nothing in the Jewish records about rejecting him. Just cause people are insecure that we don't have an interest in the same thing, that's their problem.
The messiah will bring world peace. THAT is how we will recognize him. So, no acceptence or rejection needed. It will be obvious!
======================
EDIT to asker:
"My heart bleeds, you did not accept him because he came as a pauper and with no worldly power."
NO NO NO - we didn't show interest because he didn't bring world peace!! He could have been a pauper & have no worldly power. He would have gained it when needed. He just didn't do anything the messiah was supposed to do.
You are working very hard NOT to understand Judaism.& are bordering on insulting us badly. It's not making you or your religion look good. You are superimposing on us, older Christian ideas about Jews that are hateful, & untrue. You've had a number of people here tell you TRUTH about us, but you refuse to listen. Will you continue to reject us & treat us miserably just because you were taught some false garbage about what Judaism is? I hope not. I hope you will gain some respect & learn what Judaism ACTUALLY BELIEVES. This site is a good starting point www.jewfaq.org, as is this one www.whatjewsbelieve.org.
Take a step toward the messiah by learning to respect real Judaism (since respect for others is what he will bring). I sincerely hope you will to me up on this offer, & to see more questions from you as you learn more : ).

Like all the other Jews who have responded, I can answer with a clear NO.
I am concerned by your inability to understand that other people may see things differently from you, without being 'wrong'. When you talk about availing of 'this last chance of repentance', you don't seem to understand that unless one accepts your theology to start with, this makes no sense. What are we meant to be 'repenting' for and to whom? Jews acknowledge wrongdoings directly to God and to any person wronged. We don't need an intermediary.
And I can only reiterate what others have said - we didn't and don't accept Jesus as the messiah NOT because "he came as a pauper and with no worldly power" but because he is claimed as being God (anathema to us, that any human being could be God) and doesn't fulfil the prophecies - not the ones the Christians have read into their version of our Tanakh, but the ones that JEWS have accepted.
I am sorry you can't grasp that there might be different understandings, and that respect is a pretty basic necessity if you are to be respected yourself.
Personally, a religion that is so utterly punitive to anyone who doesn't believe the exact same thing seems to me to be psychologically infantile and vindictive. Hence, it holds no appeal for me at all.
You talk about Jews 'rejecting Jesus outright'. Can't you see that we could equally say that Christians 'rejected the Torah outright'?

You ask IF Jesus was a messenger of G-D,the Messiah...NO he wasn't our Moshiac & not going to go into the many
reasons why we don't acknowledge him..They've been posted time & time again & ignored by Christians, esp evangelists...And you say Jews are a close-minded stubborn people..
Christianity's obsessed on the conversion of all Jews,it's their #1 priority in life..Your belief is when all the 'lost sheep' as we're called in your NT convert, return to Israel only then can Jesus have his so called 2nd coming..In your NT read Matthew 2.3.39,10.5,John 3.16 too many to even mention here..Makes me wonder if the man you call your saviour actually said this..If so he was either hallucinating or an egotistical arrogant lunatic..Then perhaps it was his apostals that were delusional..
In Martin Luther's book "The Jews & Their Lies" stated Jews are all Satanic..So,why did JC say "salvation is only of the Jews"???? Maybe I'm being naive thinking all Christians don't feel Jews are all satanic,at least hope not..Do apologize to them if my words appear harsh..

answer: even if Christ ever came again (which isn't likely since he didn't do within the generation of his first followers), he still would NOT be the Jewish messiah.
The Jewish messiah will be human, not perform miracles and not rise from the dead and he won't need a second or third coming to accomplish what is foretold.
Worshipping ANYONE but G-d is against Judaism.
Christianity and Islam are incompatible to Judaism.
# # #
added: Jews do not accept that someone can be a scapegoat and human sacrifice for sin. G-d rejects human sacrifice.

Once again - The belief in Jesus as savior OR prophet is contradictory to Judaism. Period. Even if he returns (which isn't happening) that only proves he isn't the Jewish messiah. Everything about Jesus is opposite of what the Jewish Messiah will be.
You cannot rewrite the original Hebrew to include Jesus. A divine risen savior is a false messiah to Judaism.
Learn about Judaism without the blinders.

It is about Christian beliefs because the Jewish messiah will not "come again", he won't be of divine origin, and he won't perform miracles
Jesus said NOTHING new when he was here (supposedly) the first time - that's why he's not even considered a prophet by Jews.
The only "enemy" of G-d are those that attempt to break Jews from their covenant with G-d and those who seek to turn Christians from THEIR savior. They are separate religions, Jesus is for Christians, not Jews.

The job description of the Moschiach was around for several hundred years before the time of Jesus. It wasn't changed because of Roman rule - it is what it always was.
The age of prophecy ended some 350 years before his time as well. When the majority of the world's Jewry no longer resided in Israel, there were no more prophets.
If his mission remains as a sacrifice to atone for their sins, they *still* could not accept his mission because that would be a violation of the covenant that the Tanakh and the Old Testament both declare as eternal.
Either G-d's covenant with them is still in place or the Bible isn't the word of G-d, or He is a liar.
Take your pick.

The Jewish messiah only arrives once.
Christians identify Messiah with Jesus and define him as God incarnated as a man, and believe he died for the sins of humanity as a blood sacrifice. This means that one has to accept the idea that one person's death can atone for another person's sins. However, this is opposed to what the Bible says in Deuteronomy 24:26, "Every man shall be put to death for his own sin," which is also expressed in Exodus 32:30-35, and Ezekiel 18. The Christian idea of the messiah also assumes that God wants, and will accept, a human sacrifice. After all, it was either Jesus-the-god who died on the cross, or Jesus-the-human. Jews believe that God cannot die, and so all that Christians are left with in the death of Jesus on the cross, is a human sacrifice. However, in Deuteronomy 12:30-31, God calls human sacrifice an abomination, and something He hates: "for every abomination to the Eternal, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods." All human beings are sons or daughters, and any sacrifice to God of any human being would be something that God would hate. The Christian idea of the messiah consists of ideas that are UnBiblical.
EDIT:
The Jewish Messiah will have to fulfill the following prophecies:
* The Sanhedrin will be re-established (Isaiah 1:26)
* Once he is King, leaders of other nations will look to him for guidance. (Isaiah 2:4)
* The whole world will worship the One God of Israel (Isaiah 2:17)
* He will be descended from King David (Isaiah 11:1) via Solomon (1 Chronicles 22:8-10, 2 Chronicles 7:18)
* The Moshiach will be a man of this world, an observant Jew with "fear of God" (Isaiah 11:2)
* Evil and tyranny will not be able to stand before his leadership (Isaiah 11:4)
* Knowledge of God will fill the world (Isaiah 11:9)
* He will include and attract people from all cultures and nations (Isaiah 11:10)
* All Israelites will be returned to their homeland (Isaiah 11:12)
* Death will be swallowed up forever (Isaiah 25:8)
* There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease (Isaiah 25:8)
* All of the dead will rise again (Isaiah 26:19)
* The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness (Isaiah 51:11)
* He will be a messenger of peace (Isaiah 52:7)
* Nations will end up recognizing the wrongs they did to Israel (Isaiah 52:13-53:5)
* The peoples of the world will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance (Zechariah 8:23)
* The ruined cities of Israel will be restored (Ezekiel 16:55)
* Weapons of war will be destroyed (Ezekiel 39:9)
* The Temple will be rebuilt resuming many of the suspended mitzvot (Ezekiel 40)
* He will then perfect the entire world to serve God together (Zephaniah 3:9)
* Jews will know the Torah without study (Jeremiah 31:33)[3]
* He will give you all the worthy desires of your heart (Psalms 37:4)
* He will take the barren land and make it abundant and fruitful (Isaiah 51:3, Amos 9:13-15, Ezekiel 36:29-30, Isaiah 11:6-9)
EDIT:
Our messiah has to appear only once and fulfill all the prophecies the first and only time around; if he has to appear twice then he is obviously someone else's messiah.
I think you are missing the point, my friend.
Please look at the evidence!
