Need Ideas for Tattoo. Input Please??? ?

Hey Everyone,

My fourth tattoo has been planned and decided and I'm getting it in two weeks or so. But now starts the planning for the fifth.

The Twenty Third Psalm from the Bible is very significant for me. And I would like to somehow incorporate it into a tattoo. And I'm just at a loss for ideas. i don't want the whole thing tattooed on me. And I want something a little more original than just Psalm 23.

Any ideas are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!

Also, please no remarks about how tattoos are against the bible and God and this and that. I just want artistic opinions. Thanks.

Update:

Thank you Cory. I didn't look at it like that.

To the rest of you who answered a bunch of retarded and ignorant answers that have nothing to do with anything.... you're not welcome.

Update 2:

Dee-thanks that is a wonderful idea, but I'm actually looking for something tiny. Not sure where I want to place it. But I will keep your idea in mind. Thank you so much.

Update 3:

Radical Ed-Thanks for the Idea. I like that too...

Just not the part where you are preaching to me. I know what the Bible says. But it's my body, and I will do with it what I please.

Update 4:

PS I'm a Christian. And I have tattoos. And I consider it self expression, not self destruction.

What about getting something like a lamb with part of that Psalm? That could symbolize your relationship with God and it would have something to do specifically with that verse.

Source(s): Tattooed Christian. I agree with tattoos being about expression. They say our bodies are temples... have you ever seen a temple that wasn't decorated or adorned?

Do you have a specific style in mind?

If not, I think something in traditional style with a banner would be nice. Instead of having something generic like praying hands or something that just says "Psalm 23", select a line from the psalm you like best and have that be representative of the whole thing.

If you have livejournal, ask to friend youre-the-storm (youre-the-storm.livejournal.com). She's an amazing trad. style tattoo artist and I think you could come up with some very nice ideas from her work.

I dont believe in tattoos, but Im not like some people here who answer questions JUST to give the asker a hard time.

I think that what you should do is just tattoo " The Lord Is My Shepherd" on your wrist, across your back, or like Angelina Jolie does, tattoo it on your shoulder, or across your stomach.

Your can tattoo another meaningful quote from the Bible, this one is very deep, if you ask me. It comes from Psalms 62, "For God alone my soul waits in Silence".

    Hope i helped.

If you want an original, take the idea to your tattoo artist. If you want it to be your original, then start looking for pics related to Twenty third Psalms and trace small part of it together until you come up with something that speaks to you. There is art in all of us and sometimes using tracing paper helps you to find it. lol. Good luck.

I dont know how big or if you want color, but.

How about a green pasture with a stream the water could be made out of words, curving like a stream. The words could be THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD, I SHALL NOT BE IN WANT. Put a staff in there somewhere and you have the 23 psalm in picture form.

This may take up you whole back though.

first of all id like to say the only thing the bible says that would say that tats are bad is if they symbolized something bad/evil. other than that the whole body as a temple is more for how we live our lives not what we put on our bodies.

my idea for you would to get Psalms 23 tattooed on you in another language. both Greek and Hebrew text are very awesome. it also is a great way for people to ask what it says and is a great way to introduce Christianity

actually if you just put Pslam 23 people would more likely look it up in the bible and people would learn about the word of god is that not an okay idea?

Maybe have "I will fear no evil; For You are with me" tattooed on you and then maybe put a passion flower with it.

how about a cup overflowing with the number 23 coming out or on the side of the cup, or maybe a rod and a staff shaping the #23
