i have a tappin sound in my engine... just reciently rebuilt it.. any ideas ?

    Without knowing what make or model or how extensive a rebuild it is pretty tough to give an educated answer. Going out on a limb you probably have a valve or valves that aren't properly adjusted. Hopefully it's not anything more serious than that. If the noise is in the top of the engine it's probably a valve adjustment. If it is in the bottom of the engine then it could be a number of things: Wrist pin, rod bearing, main bearing and etc. Some engines have a little bit of noise from the get go. Good luck.

  • it could be a number of things, your best bet is to go back to where the engine was rebuilt and let them look at it. it could be something as simple as a valve adjustment.

    this is.

    I'm going to guess and say it's your valves that are improperly

    adjusted...
