Pre-professional (pre-law, pre-med, etc) are all titles, not actual majors. It usually won't matter what what you get your bachelors in order to go on to professional school. My friend was a pre-med student who majored in dance for her bachelors degree and now she's in one of the top med schools, so it's not the biggest deal to pick a slightly unrelated major if you're sure you plan on going to law school.

However it will help you immensely in Law school (for both getting into and succeeding in) if you have a degree in something related such as political science or criminology/criminal justice. The classes you will take for these majors will give you a good foundation for law school. Best of luck!

My son attends a small liberal arts school and there is no law or pre-law major. I think most are political science majors. good luck!
