Barack Hussein Obama?
Ok, so for all you libs who can't stand it when someone says Barack HUSSEIN Obama, and scream racism whenever someone mentions his middle name, or says that we are trying to call him a terrorist, let me ask you this......do you think that immediately after World War II, do you think we would have elected a president named something like Merkel or Berhardt or Yamamoto? I think not. Same for B. Hussein Obama...the name has powerful connotations for lots of Americans, and there's no reason to hide it. Let the people decide for themselves. Do you want a Hussein in the White House?

You are correct. I don't really care about his name, but you are correct with the way you've worded it.
We are in the middle of an economic crisis while still in the great big nasty middle of a war crisis. The last thing we need is someone in the White House that cannot possibly lead us out of both. Not just one, but both! I feel that McCain is the best man for both and all jobs!

they think of calling Barack Hussein Obama Barack Hussein Obama won't at present trash Barack Hussein Obama's image, seeing as "Hussein" is a Muslim surname, as in "Saddam Hussein." that's what surpassed off in the process the elections. regrettably, that's in straightforward terms his call, and Democrats can no longer do something to end the call from circulating.

A bit of American historical perspective here.
Most African Americans actually have names that originate in the fields of slave plantations. This is a fact, whether we like it or not.
So Barack Obama's first and last name is quite a respectable name in comparison.
Barack is a Kenyan name that means "blessed one" There is an area in Kenya with this same name and a recent movie called the "Boys of Baracka" which has no relation to the person Barack Obama.
Obama is also a Kenyan Luo name, although I don't know its meaning. So his middle name is Hussein, which means "handsome one". Should we use his middle name as our determinant of his individual worth? Or are the American people of 2008 deeper than that?

Having a Hussein in the White House is no different than having a Smith in the White House. It's just a name. Get over it. He's not related to Saddam Hussein.
To attempt to draw a correllation is just silly. If one person named Jones is bad... does that make all Joneses bad? Of course not. The very idea is absurd.
As for not electing someone with a German name after WW2... please research Dwight Eisenhower, who was elected to two terms very shortly after the war. His name is derivative of the German name "Eisenhauer."
I want to say "nice try," but it really wasn't. You completely missed the President with the German name and you're hung up on someone else's middle name. Pretty epic failure.

I guess we could all vote for John "Warmonger" McCain he is already making plans to invade Iran, Syria, Thailand, Vietnam anywhere he can to show us that 5 1/2 years in a pow camp for fighting in a different war for the rich and foolish. We had no business being in that war either it was mistake. With the the choice of candidates we have to vote for Barack Obama is the only choice. I am tired of my friends dying just to enrich the mega rich.

I would be ashamed of people if they'd refuse to vote for someone based on a shared name with someone they have no affiliation with. Do you really understand what you're advocating? You're trying to draw a link between Obama and Saddam Hussein when none exists, at a time when people's fears of terrorism are heightened. Not only is that childish, but it's irresponsible. You're basically punishing someone for what his parents named him. Schoolyard bullies do that in grade school, but not adults.
It would be the same thing if McCain's middle name were Adolf, and people kept saying it in an attempt to draw a correlation with Hitler. That would be inexcusable.
I'm not a liberal, and I'm not even voting for Obama. I just think trying to draw a link between him and Saddam by using his middle name is beneath all contempt. I don't think it's possible to sink much lower.

I don't care if you say his whole name. And while simply saying it certainly is not racist, the intention of Cons for doing so (how often has anyone referred to McCain by his entire name?) is clearly a passive aggressive attempt to align him with Islamic terrorism. To deny that that is the INTENTION, is both disingenuous and ridiculous.
In other words, what you're trying to do here is plainly evident, however, since most of us read and are curious as to the facts of the matter, not to mention that this is a TIRED and OFT DISPROVED allegation, you don't stand much of a chance with your little "question" here.

By your logic, McCain is Australian because his middle name is Sydney.
If he were named Barack Larry Obama, you wouldn't blink an eye. Voting for someone based on their name is one of the most ludicrous things I have ever heard and I'm afraid we'll be seeing a lot of it in the upcoming election.
