We are moving from Northern Ireland to England and taking our cars with us but need help with the V5C!?

The car has my father-in-law as registered keeper, with a Northern Ireland address and we know already he cannot be registered keeper with an England address. So, we know we need to change the keeper to my wife. So, do we change the address for my wife to our Northern Ireland address and then export the car? (We move this Friday and can't wait for the form to come back with her new address on and then export it) Or, do we put our English address on when we change the keeper and export the car at the same time? Anyone from the DVLA or DVLNI can help! Or any motor trader out there who has exported and imported cars between GB and NI? Thanks! We will ring the DVLNI tomorrow morning but any answer tonight would allow us to sleep a bit better and stop stressing!!

Update:

Thanks for that about the DVLA still being open. Never thought they would be open after 5 haha.

They tell me, fill in new keeper details and address, father-in-law and wife signs. Wife signs the export section. We can to all this when we get to the office in England.

I also asked them about insurance. They said we don't have to have new insurance as my wife is named driver on her dad's policy. However, I thought the insurance document had to be in the keeper's name? Anyone clarify that one for us?

Update 2:

We can do all this* rather (poor spelling error sorry)

It should be enough for your father in law to give you a Bill of Sale so that you "own" the car, then you can export it in your name.

do no longer difficulty, you reside interior the united kingdom, shifting from Northern eire to England is as uncomplicated as shifting from London to tub, Somerset. simply by fact your interior the same u . s . a .. you could stay in London, however the geographical area is a nicer and safer place to stay. i could propose Southern England.
