My freezer is leaking water! Why?

So I have a Frigidaire side by side fridge/freezer with an ice maker. My freezer has the element on the back bottom that heats up (I can see it red and hot) and it melts some ice somewhere and then leaks the water out the front of the freezer from the door and then down and under. What can I do to repair this or what is going on!

Sometimes an ice cube gets stuck and melts.

Remove the little grill from across the bottom of the front under the door. It just snaps out. Pull on it.

Look in and you will see a tray. That is the drain pain. Empty it and replace it.

Pour hot water down the drain hole at the bottom of the back of the freeze side.. If no water comes out the drain is plugged. Try to suck it clear with a vacuum cleaner. If that doesn't work gently push a light weight wire through.

    Should be OK now.

    Good luck

Sounds like either a plugged drain or a leak in the tubes that carry water from the line. Anywhere that water travels through the refrigerator and freezer can turn into a leak. To find the leak, you need to follow the tubes that carry the water through the appliance and make sure that all connections are tight.

Remove the access panel and get the Popsicle wrapper or what have you out of the drain. pour some hot water down the drain to make sure you have it.

do not attempt to fix yourself , I would advise getting it replaced as the cost of repairs would probably be not worth it , and you would be better off putting the money towards a new one or check out second hand in the papers
