Could my cat have a unrinary tract infection?

She still uses the litter box, she has two that I clean out every few days, and she still pees on my things. Just my things, not my husbands. For example, if I leave my clothes on the floor overnight, she will pee on them. She peed on her old cat bed that she always used to sleep in with our other cat, who has since passed away. So we bought her a new bed, she peed on that the night after we bought it. I don't know if she has an infection and we have an appointment tomorrow in case it is, but I almost think something else is going on, like she misses the other cat and is pissed at me. (No pun intended.) Any ideas would be appreciated. I've owned cats my entire life and never had this problem. She is 6 years old and given affection everyday!

Not necessarily some cats ate marking their territory although there are some that are just dirty unfortunately our cat is peeing only on your things she is indicating that is hers and yours and no-one Else.If she strains when trying to wee this is usually an indication of a urinary tract or kidney problem.Go to some web sites that deal exclusively with cats and their issues and you will get some more competent answers,l go to Cat World if l need help but l do sympathize with you as l have a kitten that does not seem to like the litter box and l have 5 of these in the house. She knows she is doing wrong as if l catch her she goes to the box.One method l use is a water pistol if l see her trying to do something on the carpet etc it helps. You also need to clean thoroughly the places she has gone to as the smell persists and the cat will return to the same spot. There are a variety of these recipes and you will find the one that suits you on cat web sites

i've got had 2 cats that have been given tom cat urological syndrome - crystals of their urinary tract - & neither time did the vet provide me something like a gel to interrupt up the crystals. unsure what that's approximately ... possibly that's some thing new - desire so. shop a different eye on your cat to make helpful he continues to be able to bypass some urine. If he gets blocked, he could desire to die if he won't be able to pee & it does not take long for this to take place. as quickly as he does get this resolved (unblocked or the crystals are dissolved) be helpful to maintain him on a low ash nutrients. The vet could have you ever feed him a prescription weight loss plan - that's what we had to do. hopefully it won't bypass that some distance & your cat would be superb. i desire the gel works!

It is possible that she has a UTI but I am more apt to think she is lonely. The reason that she only pees on your things is that she is marking you as HERS. It is a sign that you mean a lot to her and she doesn't want anyone intruding on her territory. It is not a good habit, but because of the loss of her buddy she is now fixated on YOU as her main playmate, friend, and comforter.

It could be stress. I see that quite often with cats here at the SPCA. (And cats surrendered to us.) I highly reccomend something called "Feliway" if you haven't already tried that. The vet should have some tips as well.
