Whenever my boyfriend & I have sex, he has to get up several times to have a pee during the night. ?
Is this normal? I've never come across it before with any of my ex's and it is having a big effect on our relationship as we can't have sex if he he's got a lot on at work the next day. He usually has to get up within an hour, he will then have to get up 3-4 more times during the night and as a result he doesn't get much sleep every time we have sex. Any suggestions? What causes this problem? Is there any way of stopping it from happening?
He rarely drinks so it isn't alcohol related. He hasn't got too much of a colourful past but I'm not sure when he was last tested for STD's. He is in the RAF so he does get regular medical check ups but I'm not sure if he has ever discussed this problem with a doctor. It's becoming a big problem as it means neither of us gets sleep after we've had sex or we can't have sex as often as we'd like. He thinks it is normal!
Thanks for the suggestion animal7 but having our fun when he gets in from work isn't practical due to housemates etc. Nice idea tho!

It's normal. When people get excited or nervous, they tend to have the urge to pee.

Something to do with the relaxation after sex, or possibly some blockage of the uretha as mentioned.
When I wake up to pee, I am wicked thirsty. My throat burns. The funny thing is I've found that if I take a sip of water and leave the faucet running, I pee much easier and longer.
I also do different things to make sure my bladder gets emptied out.
Hmmm... ok now that my brain is on, this is what I think it is:
If you have a little irritation in the uretha, even a slight urge to wee can seem like a strong urge. Maybe the sex is causing a little irritation in the tip. Is there something you're doing to cause that? If not, maybe you have to do something extra afterward. Maybe a shower, or a good rinse in the sink. Wiping it with a cloth is probably going to end up causing more trouble.
Try taking a tylenol one night. It dulls your sensations. I wouldn't keep it up forever but it might give you a hint of the problem if it works.

Well you could try having sex right after he gets off of work, so as he can get going to the bathroom out of the way before he has to sleep. Alot of guys normally have to go to the bathroom soon after reaching orgasm, it's just a guy thing. But several times after(?) it could just mean he has a small or overactive bladder, a urinary tract infection, or it could be a prostrate problem. Either way you should probly be consulting a doctor about this.

Sounds like he has an infection in his urinary tract. If not then maybe on a subconscious level he doesn't want to have sex with you because of fears of pregnancy etc.

sounds like the excitement of sex has closed the urethra a bit and is not allowing a full stream...in the herbs and vitamins at the drug store is a product called Saw Palmetto...it's safe to use...have him try it for a week or so...see if it helps...

Maybe he is drinking allot of whiskey or alchol in general which is leading the nerves to cool down and cant control his pee!!!
