Chavez and Venezuela oil?

Chavez always said oil was overpriced for the world's poor and it should be down at $60 a barrel. Now that it is he is pushing to have the price raised.

I thought he was the great socialist looking out for the world's poor?

That Socialism has been sold to the people of the world as a movement by and for the 'Down Trodden Masses' is not a question, it's a fact! That it is NOT is also a fact! Every Socialist/Communist movement in history has been financed by their alleged mortal enemies, the privileged elite! It should come as no surprise that Chavez wants to raise the price of oil...

Great i was thinking about just that how would oil prices affect Venezuela because i think the source of Chavez power is oil and to take that profit away all the sudden he is a capitalist lol a leftist is always left wing until they start taking about their pocketbook

EDIT**Cuba does have offshore oil but will need American company's to drill that deep lol a deal will be struck

    Guess what?

Most of our imported oil comes from (are you ready for this?) Canada.

We do buy our oil on the world market, so some of it comes from the Middle East and from Venezuela. We also have some domestic oil production (not nearly what we could have.)

Chavez is an @$$hole. A dangerous one, I think. I wish the Venezuelans would get rid of him.

after the saber rattling with Bush, he has jumped on the bandwagon of thinking the price needs to be high to kill the ruling elite that most of the world thinks has turned America into a rogue nation.

all great socialist nations with nationalized infrastructure and utilities have a hard time meeting the demands of the people.

In free market societies such as the USA we dont have those problems because capitalism works.
