Has this election revealed anything about race relations?
Is it just me or are racists coming out of the woodworks to say some really nasty things about Obama and black people in general? I've never thought it was this bad but it appears I had been blind.
Some people seem to suggest that it's worse the other way around but just in this Yahoo! Answers forum. This is what you find.
"Is Obama's picture next to? the N word in the dictionary?"
Can you find some examples of this kind of blatant racism by Obama supporters on this site? I could not.

Well, I think this election shows that most people in this country can vote for a black man.
Whether or not the minority that will not vote for him does it because they are racists, I really don't know... but the fact that he is so superior to McCain in every aspect makes you wonder why these people are not voting for him.
My conclusion is that America is no longer a racist country, but there are still a minority of people who still think being black disqualifies you for the White House.

In the words of Barrack Obama:
Black politicians discovered what white politicians had known for a very long time: that race-baiting could make up for a host of limitations.

Yes, it hurts me to think that this is going on. As a black man, I have fortunately not had to deal with this type of behavior firsthand until, Obama received the nomination. Since then, I've heard comments such as, oh lemme guess who this guy is voting for, etc. I think this race for the white house has shown our country a lot of things, but I think it is important to ask, would you have rather not of known and let the problem hide itself further.....I wouldn't have.

I've heard a lot of racist comments about Obama, as well as comments questioning his faith or integrity because his middle name is Husein. It's disgusting...However, I've also heard a FEW comments saying "You just don't for Obama because he's black!"...I see more racism coming from the conservatives though.

About black people? Obama initiated that.
I see more racism towards whites from Obama's ignorant followers who simply cannot accept the fact that some people don't like his policies.
It is a sad day in our country when people can't voice their opinion about a candidates policies without being called a racist.
Maybe, the MSM really doesn't support Obama, they are just in fear of the backlash from the blacks and the whites with a guilt complex.

That about sums it up. Finally they have an excuse to rant about race, since it is at the Presidential Level.

I don't think it is the racists actually.
I think maybe it is the usual swift-boaters.
Remember how they painted Kerry, a decorated vietnam veteran, into a traitor in 2004?
It is that same scum that has come around again.
And they will use whatever nastiness they can.

No, you got that wrong. It is the Obama supporters who just call anyone who opposes Obama a "racist." It is a form of political terrorism.
Obama will make race relations worse for this country.

I think most minorities would tell you they are not surprised.
I think a lot of us have been blind, or lying to ourselves.

There has been a really disgusting age discrimination against McCain too. It is almost like these people think they will never get old.
