Why do Christians hate gays?

I am a Christian, and I support gay rights. Discriminating against others due to their sexual orientation is morally wrong.

Not all those who pretend to be Napoleon are Napoleons just like not all those who pretend to be Christians are Christians.

Christianity is just another religion where the blind man leadeth the blind. Christians have created more hate than love if you really take a look at things currently going on in the world today.

Jesus would not have banned gays and Jesus did not create Christianity, Paul did, and Paul never met Jesus. When you have confusion leading confusion there tends to be a lot crap.

Christianity in and of itself has created more wars and more separation than they are even aware of. I come from a Christian home and they'll barely speak to me. Many people are all too concerned with changing others. It's not the others we have to focus on.

Jesus was a way-shower. Just because one calls or labels themselves as a Christian doesn't mean they actually understand the life and works of Jesus Christ. 90% of all Christians are followers of they're respective religious leaders and 90% of those don't understand the Sermon on the Mount.

The real question is, "Why do gays hate Christianity?"

It WAS Jesus that Gave those laws prohibiting homosexuality.

I would like to know what benefit anyone thinks mankind gets from homosexuality?

There is NONE! The moral fiber of any nation is based upon the soundness of FAMILY! Though there are MANY things people do that work against that, the homosexual lifestyle is the most prominent as there is nothing "family" about it. Homosexual thinking, philosophical outlook and lifestyle are as anti-family as CAN be. I don't see pedophiles trying to convert the public to pedophilia. Nor do I see serial murderers trying to convince people of the benefits to them of that lifestyle. I DO see homosexuals trying to imitate normalcy with marriages and even adoptions. I do see them trying to gain acceptance of their lifestyle while showing NO benefit of that lifestyle to humanity. It is a lifestyle that HAS to exempt God's word. Without His word beliefs ARE mythology.

We hate the actions, the behavior, not the person. Jesus follows what His Father tells Him and so yes He does not accept gay marriages, only marriage between a man & woman.

We KNOW that Jesus was against gay marriage but that's a long stretch to Christians hating. There's the fact that it is an abomination, a simple fact, and there's what you do with that fact.

I think you're trying to stir things up. Am I right ?

Fear, misunderstanding, and maybe a little bit of self denial.

Of course, the fundies will tell you they don't hate us; they'll say "hate the sin, not the sinner" which is hardly that different from "separate but equal". And it is hate - it's just very subtle, and of a different kind than the usual shoot and run hate style.

A true Christian doesnt hate anyone.

But I would be careful throwing that word *hate* around; disagreeing with the redefining of marriage does not equate hate of anyone.

Because about 5 passages, half I should mention from the Old Testament, can be contrived to support their arguements.

It is gays who hate the Bible/Christianity because they dislike the truth about homosexuality.
