What is the possibility of me having twins ?

What is the possibility of me having twins If it runs on both my parent's side. So my dad's mom had 3 sets of twins and my mom's mom had 2 sets of twins. My mom and dad's sisters and brothers did not have twins and I have heard that it skips a generation so does that mean I'm likely to have twins. Also my older sister hasn't had any twins she only has a 5 yr old boy and a 2 yr old girl. So what are my chances ?

It would help to know if the twins in your family are fraternal or identical; but really either way unless they've recently isolated a "twin gene" that you can be tested for, there's no way to tell.

However, sometimes when going off birth control pills, the ovaries will release more than one ripe egg the first six months or so, since there's a backlog from being on the pill. That's how I was told I got my twins, now 26 years old.

If those are fraternal twins in your family, you could be genetically predisposed to it. It doesn't necessarily skip a generation though and the genetic counselor at my maternal-fetal medicine office told me that. I'd say that your odds of having fraternal twins are better than others. I have no twins anywhere in my family, going back 4 generations, and I'm pregnant with them naturally.

all i can say is don't listen to that stupid generation stuff , it might help if you have twins in your families past. but i am a twin and my family has never had any twins before me on either side. its kind of a random thing

You have a better chance than most, but the "skipping a generation" is a myth. It tends to happen, but it's not guaranteed.
