Enjoy it while it lasts. We used to be able to grow 10 plants for personal use, then five, then three then one and that is still gonna get you in strife - it was just a cash fine - no conviction and they'd take the plant(s) and all gear involved. Trouble was organised crime got involved and South Australia became the dope basket of Australia.
Now it's a convenient political club to belt the 'hippies' and 'freaks' with.
Sorry - no idea how you would tackle that one with your local authorities. It is unlikely that it will be easy, or that you won't attract attention from your DEA at some level - even just observational.
