I hope he does well, even though I didn't vote for him. No sense in sour grapes. He won, period. I'd like to see him move a little more to center which I think he will do, given that every politicians first job is....getting reelected. Obama now has to appeal to the entire country more that he is president.

That comment someone made wanting anything besides Bush did, is not very bright. So what if it's even worse than Bush? You said anything besides what Bush did. These people need to become a little more educated. That's like saying I'll take any car besides the last one I had that didn't run well. What if your given a car that doesn't run at all? Great logic by the dumb masses.

    New American Renaissance

The climate in America has become stagnant in that there's been a decrease in our actual culture. Education has been watered down dumbed. Americans have become soft-ists to the point of a complacency. Industry in only a shadow of what it once was. Jobs are being shipped over seas at even increasing rates. The majority of jobs available fall into either the technical sales or service industries. In a way economically speaking its like selling air there's no true value as you would have in a industrial economy.

The idea is to invest in the people. Obama is asking the elite wealthy of the country who has been so good to them to contribute just a bit more 3% not as a punishment but a patriotic act. Obama proposals or plan is to invest in the people by redistributing a small portion of wealth to the youth the future of America. Investing in education, infrastructure, science and technology. Investing in small business creation leveling the playing field. Simply making small farmers capable of competing in the food markets. Obama's plan will create a whole new renaissance in America

To create a new era of enlightenment as such is a renaissance you must start with the youth. By improving the elementary level of education and making it available to ALL Americans will flood our universities thus creating the era of knowledge and arts. Arts in an area severely diminished in our currant nationalism seen in political polls on where we are headed as a country. Our currant education system is an embarrassment when compared to other developed countries. Music has seen a huge decline. When I was a kid it was a popular idea to grow up to be a scientist. You just don't hear that from kids today. We need to excite the young in these areas.

I had observed many striking similarities between FDR and Barak Obama. Obama's plan most resembles to me the New Deal of Roosevelt. Roosevelt saw in the international bankers and cooperation's the inherit evil, the greed and corruption that caused the Great Depression. Occasional capitalism needs to be tempered with some beneficial social policies. This I feel is one of these times.

    Roosevelt spoke:

"Throughout the nation men and women, forgotten in the political philosophy of the Government, look to us here for guidance and for more equitable opportunity to share in the distribution of national wealth… I pledge you, I pledge myself to a new deal for the American people… This is more than a political campaign. It is a call to arms”

The biggest change I would like to see is for the US to quit playing 'policemen of the world.' Look I'm an old f*rt and I recall where our foreign policies have continually come back to bite us in the behind. Remember folks that we created the Taliban when we armed them to fight against the Russians. Now they are fighting against us.

There's people who voted him because, he's young, sharper than Maccain. Then there's people voted him because, the word Obama used, "Change" and they didn't even looked at his plans and just voted. Next, we have these people who voted him because of his race.

I didn't vote for him, or McCain. The change we need is leaving iraq, taking away the tax cuts without giving tax breaks to anyone, cut spending on all unnecessary projects, cut off all foreign aid until we get our own crap together, do something about illegals, either make them legal or get them out. Declare a real war on drugs, including death penalties for dealers and makers, kick lobbyists the hell out of Washington. Then go from there. My pipe dream. Edit: And, cut out all the left right crap and get somethig done.

I'd like all the taxes I paid in when Clinton was in office so those above me could have a tax break. Not going to happen.

A better approach to foreign policy

A better approach to fiscal spending

A better tax plan for the middle class

    Renewed alliances

Focus on energy (not just oil)

Is that enough, or should I keep going?

I hope that after he taxes me so much, I hope he leaves me enough "change" to support my family, though probably in a cardboard box.
