Why does my kitten jump out of the litter box while in the middle of going?

Sorry to sound gross...but many times now, my 7 mnth kitten runs out off his litter box mid way through pooping. And it ends up on the floor out side the box. Then he kinda acts like his butt hurts. Once I saw him actually rub his butt on the ground after this like a dog does. Should I be concerned?

Something is sure bothering him. One possibility may be that defecating hurts him (see a vet, ASAP!). Cats will run when they experience pain. They cannot distinguish between external and internal causes for pain, and try to flee from the cause.

its not worms. she doesnt like the smell of the catbox. lol .if she had worms, she would be scaping her butt across the floor. she knows where thats where she can do her business, bbut she would rather not a spend an extra second in there. or the alternative, she is still growing up and she doesnt know that she is finished.

I am sorry but I am laughing while reading this....

Your kitten is just being a kid! that's all

Your kitten may have worms...take to the vet.

I would give it some yogurt for the bacteria for the intestines so it can go easier.

    good luck

  • I would think your kitty has worms and you need to get deworming meds.

    take kitty to the vet.
