Why does cat food list "ash" as one of its ingredients?
What kind of "ash"? Burned wood? Why is it in there?

LOL - ash in this case refers to what's left over after the meat is cooked. Why they call it ash I don't recall. Better grades of meat will have less ash.
I don't know why it's listed, although in the past it was believed that ash was a contributing factor to urinary problems. It's now believed that it's magnesium rather than ash. It was also believed that the amount of ash indicated the amount of magnesium, and it's now known that that isn't true either.

ash is something which we consider to be a burnt product. it is not actually. but if you have a cat and it dies of some unnatural death, it is time to look into the matter. i tink the cat food manufactures are retards thats all.
