    "Deer Hunters should be shot!!!!"?????

Just to let you know, if there weren't deer hunters...you would be complaining to your car insurance company, having your precious flowers and gardens torn apart, and a lack of hunting would have a major impact on state's economies. So shut up and let people enjoy what they like.

Back to the question. Been seeing a lot in PA, but have not yet had a good trophy in for the kill. But I will need some meat for the freezer this year (due to the worsening economy), so I will be more liberal on what I see throughout the rest of the season.

I hunt east of La Crosse, WI which is just over the Mississippi on the boarder with Mn. I personally did not have any luck. However, in my group of about 20 guys we tagged about 12 deer give or take a few. A pal of mine got a trophy 10 that he intends to have mounted. If you are looking for a new place to hunt we are always looking for new hunters :).

Mahoning County Ohio was red hot on opening day. One nice buck early, then my wife took an 11 point 140 class deer at 1:00 PM.

    Better luck tomorrow.

I live in Missouri I got a nice 9 pointer. I passed on a few does. From others I hunt with, bucks were hard to come by. Most still got a deer.

I went today for my first time. I'm 20 years old and I live in Western Pennsylvania(Pittsburgh). We always have a lot of deer up here but I didn't see any today. Saw two does run by and I knew a buck would be following them but someone got him before he came by me. I'm going again on Wednesday. I think I'm gonna start hunting every year now.

I hunt in Kent County, Michigan. I saw a good size 6 point on opening day, but it's been dry since then. Firearms season ended this weekend, so I'll be out to fill my tag next weekend with the muzzle-loader.

I live in northern Minnesota. There is still a lot of standing corn. I got a doe and a spike during rifle season. Now I'm out with my muzzle loader.

The white-tail deer prefers tree-covered hilly areas with open fields in between in 0-3000 feet above the sea-level. They don't like higher elevations because it gets too cold at night.

Do this: Go to Google Earth. Find your state. Search under Satellite View for all areas of hilly forest and few or no paved-roads at least 30 miles from any town. Also look for lakes or ponds nearby.

That's where they are. Take your trip around 3am so you're there before sunlight, then find a high spot where no deer can see you or smell you and look through the spotting scope at where trees reach the fields. Deer tends to walk in between the trees just bordering the praries so they can both hide and reach the grass.

Remember, they usually see you or smell you before you see them, when they notice you they slowly jump behind bushes and burry themselves in between the bushes and trees, so you got to either use spotting scope or walk 2-3 miles in between the trees with rifle ready.

I took a doe and a spike just to fill my buck tag before I had to go back to school. This is in Western New York. Oh and for the first poster...why the hell are you on a hunting message board if those are your views...dumbass!
