Is 80-88 degrees too hot for an outdoor wedding &reception in baytown, TX (houston)?
We are getting married at Oakland on Burnet Bay in baytown, May 16th and the weather channel says it could be from 80-88 degrees.
soo pretty there....

We were thinking of starting the Ceremony around 5 or 5:30
the reception would follow and there is no shade! I'm just worried it will be too hot? (and who knows it could even rain)
they said it rained on 6 weddings, this past wedding season (rented a tent)
has anyone been to an outdoor wedding in may? Was it too hot?

Hi! I live in Houston and I know how hot and humid it gets. With that being said, I think it would probably be too hot to have it outside. People would be hot and sweaty and probably complaining the whole time, not to mention you and your Fi would probably be hot as well. Plus, as you stated before it tends to rain a lot during the spring and that's the last thing you'll want to be worried about on your wedding day. :)
Good Luck and Best Wishes!

Sounds too hot for me! I would think all of your guests will be sweating and uncomfortable. But I'm from Michigan, maybe the people in Texas are used to the heat! Personally I wouldn't want to sit out side at a wedding when it is that hot!!

If there wasn't any humidity, it'd be fine, but it'll feel awful in Houston if it's that warm when it's humid. Is there anywhere near there that's inside where there is some a/c for guests? And for you! Trust me, most wedding dresses are very warm. I got married in May in Minnesota and it was about 70-75 degrees and windy that day but I was so warm so I'm happy that everything was inside and air conditioned.

May 16th is a long way away. Anything could happen between now and then.
But, I wouldn't want to be at an outdoor wedding in 80 degree weather.

Personally, I would be very uncomfortable wearing a suit at those temperatures, especially in the sun.

I think that would be too hot unless you had misters and shade (tents and/or umbrellas).
