What presents are under your tree?
For a 6 month old. It sure is hard to shop for a child that won't really remember the joy of Christmas. What are some of the things all of you have gotten for your little one?

Last year, my son was 7 months.
Nearly every single thing under the tree.. he didn't even play with until a few months later.. with the exception of some link-a-doo things which he used to whip around like a mini Indiana Jones or something. (and lemme tell ya .. those things HURT!)
... and he played with his cars. But... that was it. He was more interested in trying to pull the ornaments down than he was his presents. lol

My son is 8.5 months old. He's not pulling up or crawling yet but he will be soon. His favorite thing to do right now is stand holding onto the coffee table or chair or couch and play with his toys at that level. But of course we have to help him get there and then sit right behind him, spotting him. So far I bought two big toys that are good to play with standing or sitting: The Leapfrog Learn and Groove musical table and the Laugh & Learn Learning Home playset. I think I'll probably pick up a few smaller toys that will last him for a long time like balls, blocks, bath toys etc. Not too much though. His birthday is in the end of March so we figure he'll get more stuff then. My advice, google or search "toys for 6-12 month olds" on the Toys R Us website and get a few of those. That's where I discovered the two toys I've already purchased. Also, since the baby wont really understand the joy and anticipation of Christmas morning when they are this young, my husband and I set a budget and we are each buying half the toys for our son. That way, at least one of us will be surprised with every gift that is opened. I just hope there are no overlaps! We'll save receipts.

Well, my son will be about 2.5 months at Christmas time, but the gifts we got him he'll be able to use as he grows up his first year. We got him an Exersaucer that he'll be able to use pretty soon after Christmas, and then a basketball toy and Leap Frog Learning Drum for when he's 6+ months, and a few other toys and clothes.

My daughter will be 10 months this christmas. Most of the things we got her will be things she will use when she starts walking, which should be anytime now:)
