Cant recall his name but he was the guy who was shoved aside in the 2nd film and disappeared completely in the 3rd.

tom hagen played by robert duvell.
His character had died by the time godfather 3 began.
He is mentioned by michael in the film and michael introduces Tom's son, who is a priest.
I believe the scene is during the party at the beginning of the film.
