Seriously though at the end of the manga I thought she had committed suicide because I think that was the creator was going for but at the end of the anime I think she was in a cult. I can't remember for sure It's been a very long time since I've read or watched it. lol

I actually thought it was strongly hinted that she may have committed suicide after Light died. Did you see that last shot of her? She looked like she was going to jump...and thinking of her personality, everything she went through, and her somewhat obsessive devotion to Light...it wouldn't surprise me.
