Who is more important to Muslims- Allah ot Mohammad?

Who is more important to Jews- Jehovah or Moses?

Who is more important to Catholics- Christ or Peter?

Who is more important to any religion- God or the prophet who reveals him?

If your question was serious, that is the serious answer. No matter how serious the question, I humbly submit that the answer is obvious enough that the question does not demonstrate depth of thought but is is an attempt to provoke. If I am in error, I submit my apology.

The Book of Mormon was given to us by God through Joseph Smith, but the Book itself is all about Jesus Christ. The main message of the Book of Mormon is that Jesus Christ appeared to people in America after his resurrection. The purpose of the book is to bring people to Christ so that they can be saved in the next life. Jesus Christ is the most important figure in the Book. Joseph Smith has the same authority as the apostle Paul.

We worship Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith was the founder of the church, and a modern day prophet.

In Mormonism, Jesus is still the top.

Joseph Smith is just a prophet.

    It's like a Mohammed situation.

Seems, since The Book of Mormon was added nearly 1800 years later, and seems to be revered higher than The Bible, then the answer you are looking for is Joseph Smith. However my source kinda squelches the BOM.

Source(s): Rev 22:19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

We believe that Christ had a greater mission to fulfill and that He was chosen from the beginning to be our Savior and Redeemer... that only through Him could we wash ourselves clean of our sins and return to live with God.

Joseph Smith was the first prophet of the dispensation of the fulness of times. Though he too had a great calling, it wouldn't be possible to return to the Father without the Son or to obtain a fulness of joy without Him.

"10 Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written." (2 Nephi 29)

"18 Wherefore, he shall bring forth his words unto them, which words shall judge them at the last day, for they shall be given them for the purpose of convincing them of the true Messiah, who was rejected by them; and unto the convincing of them that they need not look forward any more for a Messiah to come, for there should not any come, save it should be a false Messiah which should deceive the people; for there is save one Messiah spoken of by the prophets, and that Messiah is he who should be rejected of the Jews.

19 For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God." (2 Nephi 25)

"4 For behold, thou art the fruit of my loins; and I am a descendant of Joseph who was carried captive into Egypt. And great were the covenants of the Lord which he made unto Joseph.

5 Wherefore, Joseph truly saw our day. And he obtained a promise of the Lord, that out of the fruit of his loins the Lord God would raise up a righteous branch unto the house of Israel; not the Messiah, but a branch which was to be broken off, nevertheless, to be remembered in the covenants of the Lord that the Messiah should be made manifest unto them in the latter days, in the spirit of power, unto the bringing of them out of darkness unto light—yea, out of hidden darkness and out of captivity unto freedom.

6 For Joseph truly testified, saying: A seer shall the Lord my God raise up, who shall be a choice seer unto the fruit of my loins.

7 Yea, Joseph truly said: Thus saith the Lord unto me: A choice seer will I raise up out of the fruit of thy loins; and he shall be esteemed highly among the fruit of thy loins. And unto him will I give commandment that he shall do a work for the fruit of thy loins, his brethren, which shall be of great worth unto them, even to the bringing of them to the knowledge of the covenants which I have made with thy fathers." (2 Nephi 3)
