Is "man made global warming" a new Religion?
Americans have been rope-a-doped into believing that global warming is going to destroy our planet. Scientists who have been skeptical about manmade global warming have been called traitors or handmaidens of big oil. The Washington Post asserted on May 28, 2006 that there were only "a handful of skeptics" of manmade climate fears. Bill Blakemore on Aug. 30, 2006 said, "After extensive searches, ABC News has found no such (scientific) debate on global warming." U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change Executive Secretary Yvo de Boer said it was "criminally irresponsible" to ignore the urgency of global warming. U.N. special climate envoy Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland on May 10, 2007 declared the climate debate "over" and added "it's completely immoral, even, to question" the U.N.'s scientific "consensus." In July 23, 2007, CNN's Miles O'Brien said, "The scientific debate is over." Earlier he said that scientific skeptics of manmade catastrophic global warming "are bought and paid for by the fossil fuel industry, usually."
The global warming scare has provided a field day for politicians and others who wish to control our lives. After all, only the imagination limits the kind of laws and restrictions that can be written in the name of saving the planet. Recently, more and more scientists are summoning up the courage to speak out and present evidence against the global warming rope-a-dope. Atmospheric scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said, "It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don't buy into anthropogenic global warming."
Dr. Goldenberg has the company of at least 650 noted scientists documented in the recently released U.S. Senate Minority Report: "More Than 650 International Scientists Dissent Over Man-Made Global Warming Claims: Scientists Continue to Debunk 'Consensus' in 2008." The scientists, not environmental activists, include Ivar Giaever, Nobel Laureate in physics, who said, "I am a skeptic … Global warming has become a new religion." Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an environmental physical chemist, said warming fears are the "worst scientific scandal in the history … When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists." "So far, real measurements give no ground for concern about a catastrophic future warming," said Dr. Jarl R. Ahlbeck, a chemical engineer at Abo Akademi University in Finland, author of 200 scientific publications and former Greenpeace member. Atmospheric physicist James A. Peden, formerly of the Space Research and Coordination Center in Pittsburgh, said, "Many (scientists) are now searching for a way to back out quietly (from promoting warming fears), without having their professional careers ruined."
The fact of the matter is an increasing amount of climate research suggests a possibility of global cooling. Geologist Dr. Don J. Easterbrook, Emeritus Professor at Western Washington University says, "Recent solar changes suggest that it could be fairly severe, perhaps more like the 1880 to 1915 cool cycle than the more moderate 1945-1977 cool cycle. A more drastic cooling, similar to that during the Dalton and Maunder minimums, could plunge the Earth into another Little Ice Age, but only time will tell if that is likely." Geologist Dr. David Gee, chairman of the science committee of the 2008 International Geological Congress, currently at Uppsala University in Sweden asks, "For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming? For how many years must cooling go on?"
Very interesting article on Sun Spot activity...
Thank you (Tiedye) You have PROVEN my point!...Now pass the offering plate back to Reverend Al Gore.ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha lol lol lol LOL LOL HA Ha Ha!!!!!
WOW! so Q.V.Y. thinks we should all just lay down and die and let the squirrels and froggies take over.Maybe we need to have a world-wide Jonestown massacre and all just drink the kool-aide! That's what I'm talking about! That'll save the planet!...FOR WHAT might I ask? I do love squirrels...love em fried..love em baked..love em boiled. Heck I was raised on squirrels. Frog legs too for that matter. Love all them critters..yummmm!

Be it so that I have no degree in this field, but am a student of both prehistoric and modern history, I know that Earth has gone through several 'ice ages' and will probably go through many more.
The experts know that there have been at least three major ice ages, each several thousand years apart, the last major one ended about 11,000 years ago. None of these were known to be man made, but occurred in a semi regular basis, as all things in nature do.
We can observe the animal kingdom and forecast the weather patterns. We plant crops, fish and hunt by moon and sun signs. these signs are not 100% accurate but are close. I have experimented and have found that potatoes have a propensity to do better if planted in the dark of the moon, and fish bite better during the same phase of the moon.
In nature, everything has a season and every season has a reason. Global warming and cooling is a natural process which man cannot control but may influence or cause to change the natural cycle slightly but it will occur whether we do anything or not.
In the 'dark ages' there was a global cooling that lasted several years which shortened the growing season, which was followed by a period of near starvation. Later came a time of abundance. The Earth had rejuvenated itself.
And this era too shall pass in the annals of history!

Yes it has become a religion and Al Gore is the pope of the cult.Think of how much money certain groups will make off of the hype.Think of all that government money going to "research".Besides there is only so much you can do ,after all whoever controls the weather controls the world.Fear is the best political motivator. Climate change is part of the nature of the planet.Common sense is to have clean energy but until there is a buck in it all that happens is talk, talk and more talk.Government regulations, fines and penalties(gotta get that bailout money somewhere) We certainly need clean air and water .I am the original recycler and I don't waste energy just like many other people.I use energy and don't go for the "guilt" trip of doing so. I have a problem with Gore the guru who flies around a fuel guzzling jet.So does Queen Pelosi who opted for a bigger one to fly back and forth to California.Remember her saying she wants to save the planet, yeah she flies we walk.We can all start by using the new energy saving light bulbs. Oh I forgot they are the ones with mercury in them.Oh,well seems like a good idea at the time. I guess you all heard that some genius politician wanted to tax cow farmers for any that own more than 100 for emitting "methane gas" yeah it's true. Can we bottle it instead?Or on second thought send some from the bull to that politician as he knows the B.S. when he sees or smells it.

I remember, when I was in grade school in 1968, that our Weekly Reader had a big article about the coming Ice Age, due to the cooling of earths temperatures. They said then that it was the direct cause of all the pollution man was putting into our atmosphere, which was blocking the sun's rays from getting to the earth's surface. They were predicting a new ice age, and went on to explain how they came up with their final analysis. It caused us much concern, as we were the generation that was supposed to come up with the solutions that our parents caused. Fast forward 40 years till now, and we're hearing pretty much the same drivel, only now it's because of the hole in the ozone, and it's not an ice age, but global warming that we need to fix, caused by us...those same sixth graders reading their Weekly Readers. Isn't it funny how one generation has to "fix" what the former generation caused? Nowadays, it's all about saving the earth, the endangered bugs, the baby seals, the spotted owls, the trees, and anything else they can find to save. Personally, I think much of this is just an attempt to suck more money out of our pockets to fund nowhere projects to give jobs to people who can't find real work anywhere else. While I realize that my statement might rile a few folks, I don't really care...it's what I feel. And that's based on what I've seen over the years. The same people who tried to scare us with a new Ice Age have trained the next generation into scaring us with global warming. Actually, I've practiced recycling way before it was cool & trendy. I've always separated my garbage, even when we lived on a farm, and didn't have garbage pick-up. My family was never a wasteful family, as my parents grew up during the depression and knew what great need was. We used everything until there was not use left. We fixed what was broken, and bought used as often as we could. It wasn't because of our endangered earth, but just because it was more practical. I really think these environmentalists need to get a grip, and get a life. They need to take a look at the ebb & flow of our weather, and realize that the weather has cycles. Some of the cycles are decades apart, and some are even farther than that. Over a hundred years ago, they had several brutal winters, and I can imagine that even back then, people were wondering if a new Ice Age was on the horizon. Whenever we have a bad weather year, there are groups that sound the alarm bells, in the attempt to get funding for their newest environmental disaster study. I think it's all just a part of the natural cycle of the amazing planet that we live on. Before there were billions of people on the planet, there were cycles like this, yet much of it went by without a lot of notice, as there weren't a lot of people in the way. I've always thought that if you study something hard enough, and make up your own tests, you can get the tests to say whatever you want. I don't have any time for someone who's went to the extreme by chaining himself to a tree, to get people's attention (that was, by the way, Mr. Al Gore). To me, that just spells fruitcake. I'm all for being careful about being wasteful, but I'm not for allowing my tax dollars to fund yet another crackpot idea for some enviornmental group, so that they can scare us into giving even more to their effort. If they want funding, let them do what every other organization does, and hold a bake sale, or sell t-shirts & have a walk-a-thon. If I believe in it, I'll support it, but leave that up to me, not the tax man. As far as this being a new religion, for some, I have no doubt about it. For some, it is their way of worship, and are totally convinced that we are harming Mother Earth. If they want to believe that, that's up to them. But I don't want to have to fund their belief. I don't ask them to fund mine, so fair is fair. And if there's a group that's getting tax dollars with this kind of belief, isn't that government supporting a religion? I thought that was a no-no. Anyway, I believe that it is the great Steven Wright that says, "Save the whales...collect the whole set"! I like that. <*)))><

In a word, it's a scam, and anyone with a little knowledge of Terra and her cycles would long ago have realized it. In fact, when I was in school, I began fearing another Ice Age.
The really sad thing, except all the boobs who bought into it, is that not anywhere near all of them are making any money out of the deal, with the blatant exception of that Nobel Boob, inventor of the Internet, Messier Al Gore. Which was apparently his whole goal in so earnestly sponsoring the concept.

All I can say is that no one has got rid of their gut guzzling motor vehicles and started walking again like Jesus and his mates used to do.
The Roman soldiers used to have to march everywhere and only the generals rode on a horse. So all those who are responsible for this new religion of saving the planet better start initiating the way to go instead of flying here and driving there. I hope they get sore feet.

Yes. A Government made up Religion. They have taken Christ out of every Holiday, they're almost done with Christmas now, so they have to replace Him with something, to take the peoples mind off pondering God, and the best way to do that, for major swift control of people, is fear.
People for the most part have forgotten that Christ will take fear away, if they just believe in Him, and they have forgotten that He promised He would win against evil.
People have begun to rely and trust Government, (choking...Liberals, and the demonizing ACLU)

Global Warming is not man made. We will not fall of the face of the planet. It is a blackmail scheme, a way to take more money from us and other Countries. This is why we must push for the UN to get the hell out of our Country!

and i think it is truth for us to realize that the global warming is increasing.

Hey, Watch it man...I am working on my own iceberg some where it is cold . I drive my Hemi daily, I burn coal in my BBQ, support drilling for oil...Anything that will help melt that iceberg faster...But it isn't all bad. I am eating more than my fair share of steak...We do not want cow farts to do too much damage.
Now if you would excuse me, I have to replace all my white lights with green ones...I guess something in the color helps with energy...I don't know.

I think global warming is a fact, not a myth as religion is! But of course there are those who have proclaimed a Holocaust never existed...so my American Uncle, in the liberating army at Dachau must have been hallucinating about plowing near-skeletons, once live bodies into mass graves.
The thing with people is that for their convenience they deny everything which means immediate work done top avoid horrific consequences. If there are those who have not noticed real evidence as to the warming of our planet in so many spheres, then I say, go to your rocker people and start whistling a tune, while we slip into extinction. Which by the way, is what I think the creature called man deserves.
Sorry to feel so strongly, but mankind is the plague upon this earth...the return of the Black Death! We've made our selfish beds, Time to lie in them!
