Does anyone know what the FEMA camps are about?
A friend told me to google "fema camps". What are those things for? If they really are as sinister as they seem I'm sure that nobody that really knows will answer! There are thousands of these things across the nation.

They were given 385 million dollars to build them -- KBR got the contract to build them for FEMA
Then the subject drops off the radar --- all that exists other than knowledge of the contract award is what is shown on you tube video's.
Rumors go around -- especially on the internet - which does not mean they are false or true
The legislation that built these camps states they are for emergency use -- to detain large amounts of immigrants should there be an influx due to natural or economic crises
Whether that definition has been altered in any way or not is pure speculation at this point
But when taken as a backdrop to the invention of warrant less wire tapping Cheney's admission that torture is necessary and that rendition ( a fancy name for international kidnapping by the CIA ) and Bush's move a year ago to protect himself and US agents against human rights charges retroactively ---
I think the rumors about "the camps" --- requires more attention than a lot of people are willing to let on
The military are now "helping" the police and we are told that economic disaster could be around the corner . If history teaches us anything -- it is that evil flourishes best in war crises and poverty .

I don't think there are thousands, but there are about 500 or more. there are also 100's of trains all over the country waiting to move vast amounts of ppl and I assume to these camps. maybe my tin foil hat is too tight, but when I think that the ppl running this country are the same group that ran Nazi Germany and backed Stalin I tend to get a little nervous. just keep your eyes open.

Stop believing that whatever you read on the Internet is factual.
What the FEMA camps are about are paranoid peoples' imaginations because they watch too much TV and too many movies and have lost the ability to distinguish between reality and fantasy.
This economy should help. Some of them may have to go out and do real work for a living, which should burn off that excess energy that creates idiotic thoughts in idle brains.

Look at Germany in the late 30's and see how the Government controlled the press and what they had/did. You are smart to look and question.

They are creepy and no good will come of them.
Lets hope they are just a scare-mongering proganda device to keep people in line and never get used to gas people and keep them imprisoned and monitored.
Source(s): They could have excess cash to scam away to private contractors but from the record they are probably more sinister. Never trust government with the current fascist dictating system. - Anonymous1 decade ago
There are not thousands of them. I request you show me even one, I'll wait here. That is all tinfoilhat nonsense. The prestaged materials to build fema camps are in case of a really big evac that would require housing for those moved. What the tinfoil hatters fail to see is that without pre-staging, if we had to evac millions of people to another part of the nation, they would be basically living outside.
