Hi,
The reason there is no cure for the common cold is due to the fact that there are so many and they are forever mutating to survive. This is the same reason that a vaccine for HIV has been extremely hard to develop. The common cold will likely not kill anyone so I don't believe much research goes into it. Now days scientist in medicine are very worried about bacterias becoming more and more resistant to antibiotics, which some can easily kill you. One day we could be back to where we started before antibiotics were discovered.

To some degree, yes.
I haven't ever thought about it like that.
But I'm just thinking....
Maybe because the common cold is nothing but an inconvenience at most, and cancer is killing many, many, many people. I just think cancer is more urgent. I know of two of my family members that have died of cancer. I've never heard of a cold fatality. I guess it matters more to people. I know I'd donate to a cancer research foundation ten times before I donated to a cold one. I suppose scientists are just putting their priorities in order.

The cold is caused by many viruses, so hard to cure them all. Cancer cure will be to eliminate the cancer stem cell. You should read up about the cancer stem cell and how it appears to be the cell to kill to cure cancer.
