Since the spell check is set to American english...?

is there a way to set it differently? I know I'm not mis-spelling words, because I was taught to spell the English way...

So, am I able to re-set it somehow, or no?

I don't know hun . It does p!ss me off though . It's hard enough to remember how to spell things in the first place but then the spell checks set to some stupid dumbed down form of pigeon English it just gets too confusing .

I think it's partly because the american english tries more to be spell the word exactly the way it sounds, trying to be a bit more efficient? Also historically the american spelling is from the latin and the english is anglo-saxon, so we use the french spelling's putting U in to the words.

I don't know if Yahoo's spell check is affected by the individual's personal settings (it's just popped up to tell me "individual's" is incorrectly spelt, but it's letting "spelt" go by unchallenged). My Spell Check is set to Canadian English (except when I'm occasionally working in US English). In Word or WordPerfect, you can select the Language (i.e. version of English) you're using under "Tools".

You can not reset it as I heard it is set not to American English, but to the country you set it up under. So you must have started your profile in the US section. If you start again then you go to the Aussie section and you will have Aussie sprel chek. Dang, there goes the spelle cheke agin It be'es brokin

Just ignore the idiot spell checker.

I tried to bribe it with a cheque, but it doesn't accept any "cheque" either, lol. YA team has to correct it. It irritates me like hell. I don't care about what it says: "Please correct your spelling." Big deal! As if it knows English properly, lol.
