Cac, you are so sweet to do that.
When I was younger, we had to care for a litter of five motherless kittens.
First, the kittens need a dark, quiet place so that they can sleep. Tis all right if they don't have that. Just important for them when they still have their eyes closed.
Second, put a ticking clock under their blankets or towels to emulate the mother's heart beat. Dunno if this works but my brothers and I did this and it seemed to calm the little critters down.
Thirdly, you need to get a warm washcloth or cotton ball and rub downwards or in a circular motion on kitten's body, belly and butt area to emulate mother's tongue when she helps them do number one and two, especially number two. Put a towel on your lap when you do this for the kittens. Make sure kittens are hydrated.
When they are ready to use litter box (small box or butter dish), make sure you put them in after they eat kitten food or drink kitten milk. Make their paws scratch litter box. They will get the hang of it eventually.
I hope these information helps. Take care and God bless you and your little kittens. Keep safe.

I would just wipe a moist cloth on them, gently, and dry them up in a soft towel, so they don't catch a chill ( their young). Be sure to ONLY use water when cleaning them. Anything else could be licked up by them, or it could seep deep down into their skin and make them sick. Anything like a moist towelette, I would stay away from. Don't use baby wipes, either. Stay natural, water, and two cloths(one wet, one dry). Anything other than that, do not use.
