Well, we weren't around for the dinosaurs so, that's not our fault.
Dodo's were extinct by the 1680's, mostly because they were slow and fun to hunt.
We caused many other extinctions and are implicated in the demise of large mammals such as the wooly mammoth (about 10,000 years ago, so it might win), leaving only hippos, rhinos, elephants and giraffes as large land mammals. Who knows how many other species we affected before then?
We continue to ruin things for other species including the passenger pigeon, tasmanian tiger, Carolina parakeet and Bachman's warbler.
However, the average time a species exists on earth is 4 million years. The next one we bring to an untimely demise might be ourselves.

if your asking what was the first animal that went extinct because of humans then we will probably never know. dinosaurs are definitely not it since they died millions of years before humans ever walked the planet. If you were study the subject there would be so many variables to consider. first of all human could have hunted game animals to near extinction and in doing so caused the extinction a predator while having no contact with the animal. they could have killed predators to save better protect themselves and in doing so made a population boom of game animals which could case a plant species to be over eaten and become extinct. there are hundreds of more situation where a species could die out because of humans, but since so many species go extinct every year, it would be nearly impossible to find the very first direct extinction so far back. its difficult today to even look at a species(just because of the number at which animals are going extinct) and say they went extinct because of some human made problem.

i think of i study someplace that hundreds of species are disappearing per day. yet i'm undecided if all of them are cuz of people (in all danger maximum tho, pondering the value at which the dimensions of rain forests are disappearing)
