My mom hates my new hair color?
Yesterday I got my hair colored a dark red at the salon. I called her before and told her what I was going to do, so its not like it was out of the blue when I got home. When she saw the color her jaw about hit the floor. Now today she won't look at me or talk to me- that's seriously just how much she hates it. My friend saw it yesterday and liked it and I love the color. i'm not going back to change the color because its too expensive and I like it too much. Advice?
I'm 19, will be 20 in a few days. Its not like I'm still in high school and I'm trying to rebel or anything. Its kinda like a birthday present to myself.

Maybe it was a bit shocking for your mom. I'm sure in time she'll come to understand that the ideas of color for a young girl are far different than someone her age. Cut her a bit of slack, tell her that you understand that she may not like the color of your hair, but it didn't change who you were!

She will get over it.
You did the right thing in telling her what you were going to do so it isn't as if you did it behind her back or without her permission.
Sometimes I do think these kind of things are "Generational" My Daughter wanted to get her hair tipped black... she is a blonde and she is 11 years old... BUT she is just a really great kid, excels at school, is in band and basketball and just polite.
So when she got a 3.5 GPA I told her that she could have it done my treat.
My Mom (Her Grandmother) was soooooooo not down for it! She was upset and thought that my daughter having her hair tipped would someone make her not do well in school or that people would judge her in a bad way due to the color of the tips.
Regardless, I allowed her to do it, she was so excited and she really loves it. There are so many worse things a Kid can do then color their hair... In my mind, you've got to as a parent choose your battles.
Glad you love your new color, Mom will adjust.

"I'm not going back to change the color because it's too expensive and I like it too much." Sounds like you've answered your own question. Besides, it's your hair and you paid for it yourself. She'll get over it.

How previous are you, do no longer placed on your self out attempting to thrill your mom, while you're of age. attempt the highlights with your organic colour. no longer too plenty, only adequate to make it look organic. i think of she could like that.
