Getting K wire removed from my hand?

I had surgery 2 and a half weeks ago on my thumb. I've had my stitches removed and I'm getting the Kwire out in two weeks.

I'm curious as to whether or not it hurts?

It will probably hurt. There is usually nothing given for pain. But for the few seconds it takes to get it out you will feel much better after it all simply for the fact that it isn't in there anymore.

There are worse pains...like child birth. lol :) Best wishes.

You will most likely experience a tingling and/or stinging sensation while having it removed. This is because of the nerves in that area.
